As a Cricket Systems Operator, you will be delivering our world-renowned ball-tracking, edge-detection, and Match Officials' communications technologies, as well as providing other officiating and broadcast-enhancing technologies at cricket events around the world. This role provides a genuine opportunity to create a direct impact on the biggest occasions and moments in cricket; this could be providing an LBW call during a Test match at Lord's or telling the story of the impactful bowling spell during the Cricket World Cup Final.

What Difficulties Might I Face?

Up to this point, I’m sure there have been many things that you find intriguing about the role; however, there can be difficult times:

Working Hours: Due to the nature of the sports industry, there is often work on weekends and midweek evenings, and we are expected to fulfil our roles until the last ball has been hit.

Travelling Abroad: You can expect to spend, on average, up to 250 days per year on tour away from home. Whilst there are glamorous locations where major tournaments are held, there are also some locations that you may not have anticipated that you will be expected to travel to.

The countries we visit and the amount of time we spend in those countries will vary from year to year based on where tournaments are located. This is where the teams operated in 2024 and the percentage of time in each location;

Working & Living in Different Timezones: This role is tour-based, which means you will be spending time away from family and friends, where social events could be missed. Also, working in different time zones can make communication more challenging.

High-Pressure Situations: Working in a live broadcast environment on a production that is distributed to millions worldwide will bring high levels of pressure.

Technical setup: You will be working predominantly with PCs, cameras and related software. A strong work ethic and attitude towards troubleshooting are important in this role.

All of these factors offer different challenges daily as an operator. We will do all that we can to train you and support you to the best possible level, but these challenges must be considered before submitting your application.

  • Task Submissions: Successful candidates from the application stage will receive an invitation to access our video assessment system. We will ask you to complete a one-way video interview (Hireflix platform).
  • Review Period: Once you have completed the tasks, our team will take a period of time to review all tasks and provide application updates.
  • Assessment Event: Successful candidates from the video interview stage will be invited to one of our Hawk-Eye Assessment Events. This will be in-person, and you will be provided with further details and preparation material prior to the event.
  • Offers & Feedback: Offers & Feedback: The team will take time to review all feedback and conduct our final reviews.
