The Digital Editorial & Programming Supervisor is an experienced professional responsible for executing, optimizing, and enhancing editorial strategy, content scheduling, and platform UI/UX across digital products in Latin America and the US Hispanic market, including Amazon SVOD channels and the Sony One App. This role involves managing complex workflows, partnering with cross-functional teams to improve content discoverability and performance, and providing mentorship. The supervisor will also advise on system improvements, focusing on scalability and data-informed solutions, reporting to the Content Strategy & Acquisitions Senior Manager.
Must have:
  • Manage Sony One Editorial Calendar and execution across digital partners.
  • Lead editorial strategy to drive content visibility and engagement.
  • Build and publish localized UI landing pages across CMS systems.
  • Oversee creation and delivery of promotional assets for platforms.
  • Monitor data and trends to suggest content acquisition and programming opportunities.
  • Interpret data for editorial and programming recommendations.
  • Lead QA/QC reviews for metadata, assets, and UI configurations.
  • Manage Content Programming projects using Asana Dashboards.
  • Supervise weekly content release schedules for Amazon SVOD, Ole Channels, and Sony One App.
  • Supervise the Digital Programming Scheduler.
  • Possess 5+ years experience in streaming, editorial strategy, UX, digital programming, or metadata.
  • Expertise in digital tools and CMS systems (e.g., Bebanjo, Arion, VideoCentral, Media Manager).
  • Advanced skills in QA, project management, content performance evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Prior experience in people management.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
  • Deep understanding of UX/UI best practices and digital media trends.
  • Bilingual (English required).
Good to have:
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of Brazil, LATAM, and US Hispanic media landscapes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or Media/Television Studies.

General Summary:

The Digital Editorial & Programming Supervisor is a fully qualified, experienced professional responsible for ensuring the execution, effectiveness and optimization of the editorial strategy, content scheduling, and platform UI/UX enhancements across digital products in Latin America and the US Hispanic market including Amazon SVOD channels, affiliate channels and the Sony One App. The role requires deep expertise in merchandising, content programming, metadata, CMS, user experience/ (UX/UI) and content analysis. This Supervisor works independently to manage complex workflows and partners with cross-functional teams to enhance discoverability, performance and platform efficiency. The role also provides mentorship to junior members of the team and advises on system improvement with a focus on scalability and data-informed solutions. This role reports into the Content Strategy & Acquisitions Senior Manager and supervises the Digital Programming Scheduler.

Responsibilities:

40% Editorial Management & Content Discoverability

  • Owns & manages Sony One Editorial Calendar, ensuring execution across digital partners and marketing campaigns.
  • Leads editorial strategy to drive visibility and engagement through SEO, keyword tagging, carousels and page enhancements.
  • Builds and publishes localized UI landing pages (e.g. Brazil) across all CMS systems including Amazon Videocentral, Sony One App, and Affiliate Channels in alignment with editorial strategy.
  • Oversees creation and delivery of promotional assets for SVOD and affiliate platforms, including make-lists, work orders, approvals and on time publishing.
  • Evolves metadata standards, hero image placement, and dynamic asset tagging (pre-roll, end rolls, seasonal features)
  • Aligns editorial approach with product, business and rights requirements through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Presents editorial strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Trains junior staff of metadata, workflow and UX best practices
  • Acts as editorial liaison with Product, Data Science/Analytics, Marketing, Operations and Digital Partnerships teams.

25% Content Strategy and Data Analysis

  • Monitor internal and external data, local trends/news, user behavior and holiday calendars to suggest content acquisition, programming and editorial opportunities for Sony One.
  • Partners with Data Analytics and Marketing teams to upkeep performance dashboards and tracking tools.
  • Interprets data to make editorial and programming recommendations, ensuring content alignment with audience behavior and market trends.
  • Incorporates insights from social listening, consumer metrics, theatrical calendars, and local behavior to recommend actionable programming, editorial and acquisition solutions.
  • Assess title performance across SVOD products to guide scheduling and editorial decisions.
  • Supports strategic content refreshes and rights-based content planning in collaboration with the Acquisitions team, the Senior Manager and the Senior Planner.

20% QA/QC & Project Management

  • Leads QA/QC reviews for metadata, editorial assets, and UI configurations across digital platforms.
  • Owns Content Programming project management across Asana Dashboards as the key contact person for our Digital Projects and Product teams regarding Sony One App enhancements and issues.
  • Identifies root causes of publishing errors and proposes long-term workflow fixes.
  • Drives platform improvement initiatives in collaboration with Product, Digital Ops, and UX teams—especially around automation and machine learning.
  • Documents system transitions, provides testing feedback, and leads adoption across internal teams.
  • Collaborates with external vendors (via Digital Partnerships) to support UI and UX platform enhancements.
  • Help drive adoption and migration to new systems, documenting procedures and providing feedback for improvement.

15% Programming and Scheduling

  • Owns and supervises execution of weekly content release schedules for Amazon SVOD Channels, Ole Channels and the Sony One App, ensuring timely and accurate content releases.
  • Supervises the Digital Programming Scheduler, overseeing day-to-day grid creation and correct delivery across multiple partners.
  • Oversees ingestion timelines to guarantee seamless publishing, troubleshooting content delivery inconsistencies/issues.
  • Support transition to and optimization/enhancement of scheduling workflows by adopting new systems into programming workflows and proposing new tools (i.e. Asana, Bebanjo)
  • Propose and implement content optimizations or removals based on performance data, editorial priorities or operational limitations.
  • Collaborate with affiliate partners to ensure schedules are correctly implemented across all distribution endpoints.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in streaming, editorial strategy, UX, digital programming, metadata or platform optimization within media/entertainment or comparable apps.
  • Expertise in digital tools and CMS systems (e.g., Bebanjo, Arion, VideoCentral, Media Manager).
  • Advanced skills in QA, project management, content performance evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Previous people management experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilities, capable of adapting to various audiences including senior stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of UX/UI best practices for content discoverability and user engagement, up to date with Digital Media industry trends and tech advancements.
  • Bilingual. English Required – Portuguese preferred, Spanish a plus.
  • Knowledge of Brazil, LATAM and USH media landscape strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot creatively, and adapt solutions to changing variables.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in systems and processes.
  • Experience collaborating with different teams, but agile to problem-solve independently.
  • Passion for entertainment content and an editorial eye for quality and audience alignment.

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, is preferred. B.A in Data Analytics or Media/Television Studies, also applicable.

Experience:

5+ years television industry experience required in Editorial Content Strategy, UI/UX for Media Platforms, Digital Operations, Digital Programming & Scheduling, or related experience in Marketing/Project Management within the TV/digital media industry.
