Job Summary
Applied Materials is seeking a Raw Material Supplier Account Manager in Bangalore, India. This role involves managing strategic relationships with raw material suppliers to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance. Key responsibilities include developing commodity strategies, identifying alternate sources, overseeing material qualification, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with engineering teams. The manager will also resolve supplier issues and analyze market trends for cost reduction opportunities. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and over 10 years of experience in manufacturing, sourcing, or supply chain.
Must Have
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for raw materials (e.g., metals)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned raw material suppliers
- Measure & track Supplier KPI's covering cost, quality, Delivery and Lead time
- Identify alternate sources to mitigate supply risk and ensure continuity
- Partner with stakeholders and oversee raw material qualification processes, including technical capability assessments and compliance with global regulations (e.g., UFLPA, conflict minerals)
- Negotiate commercial terms and contracts with suppliers
- Collaborate with engineering teams to qualify new suppliers and materials meeting cost targets and material specifications
- Support new product introduction (NPI) programs by ensuring timely raw material availability
- Act as the final escalation point for supplier issues and drive resolution
- Evaluate cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction
- Analyze market trends and supplier benchmarks to maintain competitive pricing
- Aligns and implements commodity strategies
- Engages new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base
- Support resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field of Engineering
- 10+ years of Experience in Manufacturing, Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Management
- An Indian citizen with valid passport & ability to travel to Asia, Singapore, China & USA
- Ability to travel 35% of the work time
- Flexibility to work from home/office environment
- Flexibility to work in multiple time zones to collaborate with teams across regions
- Valid driving license

- Relevant industry certification(s)
- Practical experience of procurement of raw material from mills
- 5+ years of Leading commercial large scale negotiation with large scale suppliers
- Preferred experience working in start-up environment for establishing new supply chain ecosystems targeting domestic India market
- Knowledge of SAP
- Knowledge of Ariba RFQ tool

Job Description
The Raw Material Supplier Account Manager is responsible for managing strategic relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery performance aligning with organizational goals. This role involves end-to-end supply chain engagement, supplier qualification, and risk mitigation for raw material sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for raw materials (e.g., metals )
- Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned raw material suppliers.
- Measure & track Supplier KPI's covering cost, quality, Delivery and Lead time.
- Identify alternate sources to mitigate supply risk and ensure continuity.
- Partner with stakeholders and oversee raw material qualification processes, including technical capability assessments and compliance with global regulations (e.g., UFLPA, conflict minerals).
- Negotiate commercial terms and contracts with suppliers that provide structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to qualify new suppliers and materials meeting cost targets and material specifications.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) programs by ensuring timely raw material availability.
- Act as the final escalation point for supplier issues and drive resolution
- Evaluate cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Analyze market trends and supplier benchmarks to maintain competitive pricing.

- Communicate in a clear, concise and timely manner (both verbal and written) to operate and collaborate effectively.
- Experience working with people remotely and ability to leverage technology and influence appropriately in a remote and global working environment.
- Experience working on a global scale with a variety of cultures with sound knowledge of logistics & customs regulation (Import/export)
- Demonstrated ability and passion to solve problems with data driven, rigorous approach.
- Resourceful with a strong work ethics and excellent execution of projects and objectives.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field of Engineering
- 10+ years of Experience in Manufacturing, Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Management and/or relevant industry certification(s) preferred
- Practical experience of procurement of raw material from mills
- 5+ years of Leading commercial large scale negotiation with large scale suppliers
- Preferred experience working in start-up environment for establishing new supply chain ecosystems targeting domestic India market
- Proficiency working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills.
- Knowledge of SAP & Ariba RFQ tool is added advantage
