Nasdaq Technology is looking for a passionate Systems and Network Administrator – Sr Specialist with focus on Cisco network products and preferably an automation skillset to join the Bangalore technology center in India. The role involves supporting, building, and maintaining Nasdaq’s networks, providing first-level network support for European clients, proactively monitoring alerts, and ensuring maximum uptime for mission-critical exchange systems. The team is driven, passionate, and highly motivated, working in a fast-paced environment to ensure network compliance and efficiency.
Must have:
  • Initial Response and troubleshooting of HP Open View and other monitoring tool alarms.
  • Work on various first level projects and tasks as required.
  • Work closely with all Operations and Engineering teams to ensure network systems are available.
  • Apply standardized LAN device configurations.
  • Establish knowledge base, document standard config templates and operating procedures.
  • Capturing and analyzing network sniffer data.
  • Certifying new network gear is properly monitored through failure testing.
  • Interfacing and providing feedback to network monitoring tools group.
  • Maintain required spare hardware inventory at proper code revision levels in burn-in.
  • Open hardware and software cases with network vendors (Cisco).
Good to have:

  • Work experience in NOC environment
  • Obtained at least one CCNP certification
  • Basic F5 (BIG IP) and Citrix netscaler knowledge

With this position we offer :

Join the NASDAQ Network Operations Team. The team provides excellent, first-level network support for European clients. They proactively monitor and respond to alerts and requests to ensure maximum uptime for Nasdaq's mission-critical exchange systems. The team is driven, passionate, high-energy, and highly motivated with diverse skill sets. The fast-paced work environment requires to take on tasks independently. It is crucial that you have the potential and drive to grow their craft. The team ensures the network complies with best practices, meets internal design criteria, and adheres to Information Security and Internal Audit guidelines. New ideas and improvements to processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and productivity are encouraged.

Your role and responsibilities :

As a Systems and Network Administrator – Sr Specialist, your focus will be on supporting building and maintaining Nasdaq’s networks.

We expect you to have :

  • At least 9-13 years of experience in Network Administration along with automation and system administration skills.
  • Good understanding of automation background.
  • Must have any of the Cisco certification, preferred is CCNA.
  • Should be very organized and detail oriented, with high degree of accuracy and follow-up.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess desire to learn new technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network concepts, TCP/IP stack and common Internet protocols.
  • Ability to work in collaborative high pressure environment.
  • Development and audit network system policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial trading systems and trade reporting methodologies including their general design, architecture, protocols, and the customer's access requirements is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field or equivalent qualification.

It would be great if you are:

  • Proficient in Python is a plus
  • Proficient with Ansible is a plus
  • Basic AI skills
  • Work experience in NOC environment
  • Obtained at least one CCNP certification is a plus
  • Basic F5 (BIG IP) and Citrix netscaler knowledge
