Job Description

The Tax Analyst II – Technology & Systems position at Nissan in Franklin, Tennessee, integrates tax and business expertise with innovative technology solutions to enhance tax compliance, reporting, and operational efficiency. This role involves collaborating with tax, finance, and IT teams to automate processes, manage tax data, and support tax technology platforms. Key responsibilities include designing scalable solutions, developing automated workflows and reports, participating in strategic projects, maintaining tax software content, and assisting with IT initiatives impacting tax processes.
Must have:
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate data flows and tax computations, designing scalable solutions that improve accuracy and efficiency in tax processes.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows, custom reports, and interactive dashboards to support tax data needs.
  • Participate in strategic projects to improve tax processes, reduce risk and add value including automation initiatives, system upgrades and process redesigns.
  • Maintain and update tax content (e.g., rates, forms, reporting requirements) within tax software platforms.
  • Contribute to tax process transformation initiatives through data analysis, automation, and project management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tax-related process and data issues, including software functionality and team inquiries.
  • Assist in the creation of a warehouse of key data points required by the tax team.
  • Assist with IT initiatives that impact tax processes, ensuring tax requirements are considered in system design and implementation.
  • Look for opportunities to export solutions and efficiencies developed for the US business to other countries in the Americas region.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Technology, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technology, coding, accounting, finance, or a related analytical discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and automation/data tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, and/or Python.
Good to have:
  • Experience in a large public accounting firm or a multinational corporate accounting or finance department.
  • Familiarity with tax software platforms (e.g., ONESOURCE, BNA Corporate Tax Analyzer) and SAP.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive, independent problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Job Details

The Tax Analyst II – Technology & Systems position plays a critical role in integrating tax and business expertise with innovative technology solutions to enhance tax compliance, reporting, and operational efficiency. This position collaborates closely with tax, finance, and IT teams to automate processes, manage tax data, and support the implementation and maintenance of tax technology platforms.

A Day in the Life:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate data flows and tax computations, designing scalable solutions that improve accuracy and efficiency in tax processes.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows, custom reports, and interactive dashboards to support tax data needs.
  • Participate in strategic projects to improve tax processes, reduce risk and add value including automation initiatives, system upgrades and process redesigns.

Who We’re Looking for:
