Job Description

This Tech Lead role focuses on designing and delivering data sourcing strategies for a large international investment bank. The position involves integrating data from diverse sources like Oracle, Postgres, Hadoop, NoSQL, and file-based inputs, then publishing it through a strategic hybrid data platform across Google Cloud and on-premises environments. Key responsibilities include technical leadership in designing scalable data solutions, defining best practices for data ingestion and pipeline development, and leading technical decisions. The role also requires implementing data pipelines, ensuring hybrid platform integration, engaging with stakeholders, and managing a high-performing engineering team.

Good To Have:

Experience with Big Data and metadata management
Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps for data platforms
Prior work in regulated or enterprise-scale environments

Must Have:

Lead technical decisions across the team
Design and implement data pipelines to ingest, transform, and publish data to distribution layers such as BigQuery, cloud storage, or through APIs
Ensure seamless integration with hybrid platforms (GCP and on-prem)
Collaborate with feed providers to define and agree on technical interfaces
Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external data partners
Motivate and energize a high-performing team of engineers
Manage delivery timelines, risks, and dependencies
Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
Proven experience leading technical teams in data engineering or platform roles
Strong expertise in Oracle, Postgres, Hadoop, NoSQL databases
Strong expertise in Data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow/Composer, Dataflow, Dataproc)
Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM)
Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and data governance
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic leadership
