Job Summary

This cross-disciplinary artist role involves shaping player experiences from mood boards to cinematic polish, translating design, narrative, and engineering directions into cohesive visual experiences with a stylized aesthetic. The role is highly collaborative, focusing on rapid iteration, prototyping new rendering ideas with engineers, elevating character performance with animators, and optimizing the path from concept to in-game realization. Key tasks include quick prototyping in Unreal Engine, creating stylized shaders, lighting, and environmental effects.

Must Have

  • Prototype quickly inside Unreal Engine, providing proofs of concept that unblock design explorations
  • Create stylized shaders, lighting, and environmental effects that enhance atmosphere and player feedback
  • Build and implement real-time visual effects using Niagara and custom materials
  • Polish character and gameplay animations to feel fluid and expressive
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to bring AI-driven systems to life visually
  • Optimize assets and visuals for performance and readability
  • Contribute across disciplines, from modeling and texturing to world-building and cinematic polish
  • 3+ years of experience in Unreal Engine (ideally UE6)
  • Strong understanding of the real-time 3D pipeline, from modeling and materials to lighting and optimization
  • Expertise with Niagara, the Material Editor, and Blueprints
  • Proficiency with Maya, Blender, or similar tools
  • A strong eye for motion, timing, and visual cohesion
  • Comfortable wearing many hats and taking ownership of features
  • Passion for stylized visuals and expressive, player-driven worlds

Good to Have

  • Experience with stylized or toon-shaded pipelines
  • Familiarity with procedural or AI-driven systems
  • Background in animation, rigging, or motion design

The Role

You will be one of the cross-disciplinary artists shaping the way players see, feel, and inhabit our worlds. From the earliest mood boards to the final cinematic polish, you will translate direction from design, narrative, and engineering into cohesive visual experiences that celebrate our stylized aesthetic.

This is a highly collaborative role that thrives on rapid iteration. You will pair with engineers to prototype new rendering ideas, partner with animators to elevate character performance, and help production identify the smartest path from concept to in-game realization.
