Job Description

As a Technical Lead for Functional Safety, you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and defining mitigation measures. This role involves utilizing methodologies like Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to analyze failure modes and their effects on safety-critical functions. You will manage safety requirements throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring traceability and compliance with industry standards. The position also includes planning and executing functional safety audits, identifying areas for improvement in safety practices, and designing safety cases to demonstrate the achievement of safety objectives. Collaboration with suppliers to ensure safety-related deliverables meet requirements and establishing documentation for tool qualification activities are key aspects. You will also plan and execute validation and verification activities, define test strategies, and perform change impact analysis.

Job Details

Major Accountabilities:

Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards, assess associated risks, and define risk mitigation measures.

Utilize methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to systematically analyze failure modes and their effects on safety-critical functions.

Manage safety requirements throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring traceability, completeness, and alignment with industry standards and regulations.

Plan and execute functional safety audits to evaluate compliance with safety standards, regulations, and internal processes.

Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to enhance functional safety practices and procedures.

Perform FMEA to systematically analyze potential failure modes, their effects, and associated risks for safety-critical functions and components.

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that safety-related deliverables meet specified requirements and adhere to industry standards.

Design safety cases to provide structured arguments demonstrating the achievement of safety objectives for products and systems.

Establish and maintain documentation related to tool qualification activities, including test cases, verification results, and compliance reports.

Plan and execute validation and verification activities to ensure that safety requirements are adequately implemented and verified.

Define test strategies, develop test cases, and oversee testing efforts to verify compliance with functional safety requirements.

Perform change impact analysis to assess the potential impact of proposed changes on functional safety objectives, requirements, and processes.

Provide training and guidance on functional safety principles, methodologies, and tools to internal teams and stakeholders.
