Job Summary
Thales is seeking a Technical Lead for Mixed Signal Design in Bangalore, India. This role involves performing trade-off analysis, understanding system requirements, and designing hardware boards with processors and FPGAs. Key responsibilities include high-speed board design, component selection, power budget calculation, and circuit simulation. The lead will also drive SI/PI analysis, perform board bring-up, and integrate hardware, software, and firmware. Mentoring team members and project monitoring are also part of the role.
Must Have
- 8+ years experience in High speed hardware board design integration, test, root cause analysis and problem solving
- Strong experience troubleshooting electronics and embedded hardware systems
- Experience in component selection and tradeoff analysis
- Experience in developing complex Hardware architecture
- Experience in impedance control and High Speed board development
- Experience in developing Hardware Test plan and Test procedures
- Proficiency in Requirement analysis and validation
- Experience in power tree development using buck, boost regulators
- Experience in Hardware schematics design tools like Cadence Allegro
- Experience in IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification) including requirements management
- Proficiency in developing PCB design constraints
- Proficiency in bus interfaces like I2C, SPI, QSPI, UART, AXI, DDR3/4, PCIe, JTAG
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in reporting project progress with KPI
- Usage of Lab Equipment like DSO, Logic Analyzer, VNA, Spectrum Analyzer
Job Description
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Perform trade-off analysis of different technologies and feasibility studies to propose the best architecture design
- Understand system level requirements and create requirements for Hardware Board
- Processor and FPGA based board design
- High Speed Board design with interface like LVDS, RGMII, USB2/3 , DDR3/4, HDMI
- Component selection and trade off analysis
- Power budget calculation , power tree design and circuit simulation
- Power circuit design using switching regulators
- Design for testability
- Drive SI and PI analysis for high density board
- Component de-rating analysis
- Experience developing High density and complex hardware using buried and blind via
- PCB Stack-up analysis and impedance controlled board development
- Component placement analysis on PCB and create placement guide
- Power on test , Board bring up along with Firmware and Software
- Hardware Test plan creation and Hardware Physical Test, Hardware debug, solve integration issues
- Integration of Hardware, Software and Firmware and performs IVVQ
- Communication with PCB Fab, work with PCB layout engineer
- Mentor, drive and guide team members to achieve project objectives
- Proposal preparation, Project scheduling/costing, detailed work brake down for planed execution, identify risk , opportunity and dependency, Project monitoring
Mandatory Skills
- Electronics/ Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience on High speed hardware board design integration, test , root cause analysis and problem solving
- Must have strong experience to troubleshoot on electronics and embedded hardware systems to find the root cause and to fix with a suitable solution.
- Must have experience in component selection and tradeoff analysis
- Must have experience in developing complex Hardware architecture
