Bazaarvoice is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive strategic initiatives and solve complex engineering and product development problems. This role involves defining program objectives, developing comprehensive plans, and ensuring teams focus on customer outcomes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a product-driven mindset, and a passion for improving operational efficiency and engineering productivity through internal tooling and user-focused development.
Must have:
  • Be responsible for solving problems at their root, understanding the broader concept.
  • Deliver agreed-upon program objectives and define success metrics.
  • Develop comprehensive program plans including proposals and requirements.
  • Prioritise outcomes over output, focusing on customer pain points.
  • Navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Advocate for customer needs in decisions and initiatives.
  • Use insights from user research, success metrics, and data analysis.
  • Track program health using Red-Yellow-Green flags and escalate issues.
  • Hold teams accountable for timely delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Moderate meetings with clear documentation and progress tracking.
  • Communicate with clarity across all levels.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Program Management.
  • Write high-quality, unambiguous documents for stakeholders.
  • Help technical teams solve problems with urgency.
  • Consider short-term business needs and long-term implications.
  • Understand data strategies, design patterns, and architectural concepts.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in software engineering.
  • Understand non-functional fundamentals of cloud-native systems.
Good to have:
  • Ideally comes from a product management, solution architecture, or engineering background.

As a Bazaarvoice Technical Program Manager, you will have industry-leading strategic and technological skills, along with a proven record in program and project management.

You will have the opportunity to leverage these skills on the most interesting and challenging initiatives, helping drive the continued success of Bazaarvoice.

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager who is highly product-driven and passionate about solving customer problems through internal tooling and user-focused product development. You'll also be instrumental in shaping programs that directly impact operational efficiency, and engineering productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for solving problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader concept. TPMs will solve the largest Engineering and Product Development problems/opportunities and are responsible for the creation of the definition of the problem (WHAT, WHY) and how it will be solved (HOW) to drive incremental value for our clients.
  • Deliver agreed-upon program objectives. Lead efforts to define the value of the program (measurement of success) and track all key metrics about a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and propose corrective actions for critical deviations. Ensure teams have a laser focus on outcomes.
  • Develop comprehensive program plans, including the creation of proposals, product and engineering requirements documentation, as well as building detailed delivery timelines, dependencies, risks, budget, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Prioritise outcomes over output: ensure delivery teams focus on solving customer pain points and driving internal efficiencies.
  • Navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across cross-functional teams, adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Advocate for customer needs in every decision and initiative.
  • Use insights from user research, success metrics, and data analysis to inform planning and strategy..
  • Track program health using Red-Yellow-Green flags and proactively escalate issues.
  • Hold teams accountable for timely delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Moderate meetings with clear documentation, notes and progress tracking.
  • Communicate with clarity across all levels — from ICs to executives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Program Management, with a strong track record of driving strategic initiatives from concept to delivery.
  • Ideally comes from a product management, solution architecture, or engineering background, bringing deep technical fluency and an intuitive grasp of the product development life cycle.
  • You write high-quality, unambiguous documents (e. g. proposal documents, product requirements specifications, engineering requirement documents) that business and technical stakeholders can easily understand.
  • You help solve technical problems with urgency by helping technical teams reach closure by asking the right questions and offering solutions.
  • You always consider the short-term needs of the business and the long-term implications of any decision.
  • An understanding of data strategies, design patterns, and architectural concepts that support you in leading complex cross-location programs with a high degree of architectural and technical complexity.
  • Ability to recognize and adopt best practices in software engineering: design, coding, testing, version control, documentation, build, deployment, and operations.
  • Ability to understand the non-functional fundamentals of cloud-native systems.
