Job Description
The Humanities & Arts Department at WPI is seeking a temporary tutor to assist graduate students (and occasionally undergraduates) in developing their writing skills by providing constructive feedback on the structure, argumentation, and clarity of student compositions. This is an on-site part-time position, 5-10 hours per week, with a pay rate of $22 per hour. Responsibilities include holding consultations, attending staff meetings, and assisting with outreach.
Good To Have:
- Familiarity with academic genres in both the humanities and the sciences
Must Have:
- Holding consultations with students (both with individuals and with small groups)
- Attending monthly staff meetings
- Assisting with outreach across campus
- Demonstrate strong writing ability
- Demonstrate listening skills
- Have a graduate degree or be currently enrolled in a graduate program
