This Tooling Technician 1 role involves maintaining and improving production molds, performing preventive and corrective repairs, and optimizing equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mold issues, collaborating with manufacturing for efficiency, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and assembling/inspecting tooling components using precision instruments and machine tools. The role supports failure analysis and technical innovation to ensure optimal production.
Must have:
  • Perform mold maintenance and repairs (corrective, preventive, and spare parts) using machining equipment.

  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Team to maximize cavitation, utilization, and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and 6S standards, maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Assemble, rebuild, and inspect tooling components, using precision measuring instruments and operating various machine tools.
  • High school diploma (9th grade) required.
  • Technical degree in Precision Mechanics or equivalent experience, with at least 1 year as a Precision Technician.
Good to have:
  • Background in tool shop or manufacturing industries preferred, with understanding of safety practices.
  • Basic English, plus proficiency in Word and Excel preferred.
  • Familiarity with precision mechanics and related manufacturing processes.

Tooling Technician 1 - Shift B

Job Description

In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving production molds—handling preventive, corrective, and complex repairs—while driving equipment optimization, supporting failure analysis, and staying at the forefront of technical innovations to keep our production running at its best.

Your role:

  • Perform mold maintenance and repairs (corrective, preventive, and spare parts) using machining equipment to ensure molds operate at optimal levels and parts meet quality specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mold issues, identifying root causes, executing corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement in performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Team to maximize cavitation, utilization, and efficiency, ensuring smooth production flow and proper shift handoffs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and 6S standards, maintaining a clean and safe work area, following health and environmental procedures, and escalating unsafe conditions when needed.
  • Assemble, rebuild, and inspect tooling components, using precision measuring instruments and operating various machine tools (grinders, mills, drill presses, lathes, etc.) to support die-cast and other tooling applications

You're the right fit if:

  • High school diploma (9th grade) required; technical degree in Precision Mechanics or equivalent experience, with at least 1 year as a Precision Technician.
  • Background in tool shop or manufacturing industries preferred, with understanding of safety practices.
  • Basic English, plus proficiency in Word and Excel preferred.
  • Familiarity with precision mechanics and related manufacturing processes.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This role is an onsite role. Shift B Monday to Friday from 3:36 pm to 10:00 pm and Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
