Job Summary
Apple is seeking a Tools and Automation Engineer for the Release Validation Automation team. This role involves building automation solutions to ensure high-quality software updates across all Apple platforms including macOS, iOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS. The engineer will maintain the stability and reliability of releases, work with cutting-edge technologies to enhance testing capabilities for new features, and contribute to the user experience for millions of Apple users worldwide. The position requires designing, building, and enhancing automation frameworks and end-to-end functional tests, collaborating with Automation and QA Engineers, and applying technology to solve complex problems.
Must Have
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience in lieu of education
- Strong computer science and software engineering foundation
- Development skills in Swift, Python, Objective-C, C++ or similar
Good to Have
- Experience with XCTest and Xcode
- Knowledge of test methodologies (unit, integration, performance, functional)
- Ability to debug and triage problems
- Highly organized, creative, and motivated
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for user-focused design and quality products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Description
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of directly related work experience can substitute for the education requirement
- Strong foundation in core computer science concepts and software engineering principles
- Strong development skills in Swift, Python, Objective-C, C++ or similar languages
- Experience with XCTest and Xcode.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with test methodologies (unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, functional testing, etc).
- Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems both independently and cooperatively.
- Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results.
- Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
- An enthusiasm for user-focused design & high-quality products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple.
