The successful candidate will work closely with experts, supporting various projects and clients in Michigan.
Must have:
  • Work within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD on the maintenance of traffic concepts and plans.
  • Work within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD on signing and pavement marking plans.
  • Development of quantities for MOT and/or signing and pavement marking plans.
  • Develop traffic management plans to support MOT.
  • Conduct field work to verify existing signs and pavement markings along a corridor.
  • Attend internal meetings and potential external meetings with clients.
  • Produce a variety of technical memos, reports, and presentations supporting our clients.
  • Provide services in support of other AECOM projects.
Good to have:
  • BS in Civil Engineering at an Accredited University with 1 year of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Civil Engineering with a desire to obtain a Professional Engineering license in 4 years
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD and/or SignCAD
  • Familiarity with traffic analysis software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, Highway Capacity Software

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an energetic and motivated entry-level engineer to support our services in the areas of maintenance of traffic and signing, and pavement marking. The successful candidate will provide services as a Transportation/Traffic Engineer working closely with a range of local and national experts in this field, supporting a range of projects and clients. The position will be located in one of our offices in Michigan, either in Novi or Grand Rapids.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD on the maintenance of traffic concepts and plans.
  • Work within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD on signing and pavement marking plans..
  • Development of quantities for MOT and/or signing and pavement marking plans..
  • Develop traffic management plans to support MOT.
  • Conduct field work to verify existing signs and pavement markings along a corridor.
  • Attend internal meetings and potential external meetings with clients.
  • Produce a variety of technical memos, reports, and presentations supporting our clients, including presentations to clients or peers in formal and informal settings.
  • Provide services in support of other AECOM projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at an ABET-accredited university.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering at an Accredited University with 1 year of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Civil Engineering with a desire to obtain a Professional Engineering license in 4 years.
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD and/or SignCAD.
  • Familiarity with traffic analysis software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, Highway Capacity Software.
