Job Description

The Warehouse Director works under the responsibility of the Regional Director of Operations and Logistics. Their main tasks include the execution and monitoring of all activities of the distribution center: planning receptions-shipments, inventory management, merchandise storage, and personnel management. They will lead and develop a high-performing team, optimize logistics flows, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with regulations, contributing to operational excellence and productivity.
Must have:
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control daily operational activities for goods preparation and transport.
  • Manage storage areas efficiently to meet order priorities.
  • Plan and manage the delivery vehicle fleet.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Define and implement operational optimization strategies.
  • Identify and implement technological tools and innovative processes for logistics.
  • Conduct annual inventory effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with current standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in budget planning and adhere to the budget.
  • Analyze performance indicators and ensure their improvement.
  • Approve purchase invoices for the department.
  • Inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Plan workforce needs, select, hire, integrate, and train collaborators.
  • Ensure collaborators' performance meets expectations and tasks are completed promptly.
  • Approve timesheets and manage absence/vacation requests.
  • Conduct disciplinary management in collaboration with HR.
  • Perform annual performance appraisals and set development objectives.

Job Description

The Warehouse Director works under the responsibility of the Regional Director of Operations and Logistics. Their main tasks include the execution and monitoring of all activities of the distribution center: planning receptions-shipments, inventory management, merchandise storage, and personnel management.

Responsibilities

Operations Component

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control daily operational activities for the preparation and transport of goods (tires) to various clients;
  • Ensure sound and efficient management of storage areas to meet order priorities;
  • Plan and manage the delivery vehicle fleet ;
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment focused on prevention and management of occupational health and safety ;
  • Define and implement operational optimization strategies reflecting industry best practices.
  • Identify and implement adapted technological tools and establish innovative processes to optimize logistics flow management, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
  • Efficiently conduct annual inventory in collaboration with other departments;
  • Ensure compliance with current standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in the budget planning exercise and adhere to the established budget ;
  • Analyze performance indicators and ensure their improvement ;
  • Approve purchase invoices for their department. ;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Human Resources Component

  • Inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, creating a collaborative and engaging environment focused on operational excellence, efficiency, and skill development.
  • Plan workforce needs in partnership with human resources, proceed with the selection, hiring, integration, and continuous training of their collaborators;
  • Ensure that the performance of their collaborators is at the expected level and that tasks are completed without delay.
  • Ensure approval of timesheets and management of absence and vacation requests ;
  • Conduct disciplinary management in collaboration with the human resources department and ensure the progression of sanctions when necessary;
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals of their team based on established criteria, set individual development and performance objectives, and ensure their achievement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • DEP in operations management or transportation logistics. Equivalent experience will also be considered;
  • Strong sense of organization focused on efficiency and productivity;
  • A strong interest in coaching and developing a team to reach its full potential ;
  • Strong ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions to maximize performance.
  • Good knowledge of transportation, storage, labor standards, and CNESST regulations;
  • Strong ability to lead, manage, inspire, and mobilize a team;
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and resolve their concerns with finesse and efficiency ;
  • Innovative spirit that masters best practices in operational excellence in logistics;
  • Skills in planning, organizing, and prioritizing to manage effectively ;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with an ERP system (computerized inventory system), WMS, TMS, as well as proficiency in the Office suite.
  • Bilingualism (intermediate French/English level) is an asset due to the organization's national activities and the need for effective communication between different regions.
