UI/UX Designer, Image Guided Therapy Devices (Plymouth, MN)

This role involves being a key member in the creation and definition of medical device product concepts for diagnosing and treating vascular diseases. The UI/UX Designer will serve as the voice of user experience design, ensuring workflow and human factors are integrated into medical device and software designs from the outset. Working within a cross-functional product development team, especially with R&D and Marketing, the designer will collaborate with engineers and software architects to identify technological opportunities and constraints. This position is part of a new team embedding these competencies directly within the Image Guided Therapy Devices business, shaping future expectations and ways of working.

Must Have

• 2+ years of experience in UX Design with a proven track record of products making it to market
• Experience understanding and translating user needs into software and on-device interface concepts
• Advanced competency in digital tools for concept communication - Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.
• Ability to prototype concepts for user interactions using Figma and Framer
• Demonstrated ability in understanding and documenting workflow - user stories, ethnographic research, and workflow analyses
• Competency with standard digital office tools
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, certifications in interaction design, user experience design, human-computer interaction or degrees or certifications in adjacent disciplines in art or graphic design
• Ability to successfully perform minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements
• Accomplished communicator both visually and verbally
• Interested in different perspectives and understanding the whole challenge
• Able to understand and articulate the ecosystem within which the customer’s challenge arises

Job Description

Be a key member in the creation and definition of medical device product concepts for products used to diagnose and treat a variety of vascular diseases.

Your role:

• You will serve as the voice of user experience design, ensuring that workflow and human factors elements are included in the design of medical devices and software for Image Guided Therapy Devices from the beginning
• You will work with a cross-functional product development team, working especially closely with R&D and Marketing
• You will work closely with other designers, engineers, and software architects to identify opportunities and constraints of technology and platform choices
• You will be part of the first team that is embedding these competencies directly within the IGTD business, and thereby shaping the expectations and Ways of Working for this team in the future

• You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience in UX Design with a proven track record of products making it to market
• Prior medical device and software design is highly desired; experience understanding and translating user needs into software and on-device interface concepts is a must-have

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Plymouth MN is $103,000 - $138,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here
