Job Summary
Ubisoft Da Nang is seeking a VFX Artist Intern to design and implement visual effects for an upcoming AAA project. The role involves creating and optimizing particle effects, developing game assets, and prototyping FX based on concepts and scripts. The ideal candidate will possess strong artistic skills, technical understanding of game environments, and experience with real-time game engines, working collaboratively within a large team.
Must Have
- Design and implement Visual Effects for AAA projects
- Create and optimize particle effects (rain, wind, explosions, destruction, smoke, fire)
- Create and develop game assets (geometry, full screen, surface shader effects)
- Prototype and implement FX in game following concepts and scripts
- Strong artistic skills and understanding of Traditional Art and Animation principles
- Ability to create optimized and hyper-realistic in-game VFX
- Experience using a real-time game engine (Unreal Engine, Unity or any 3D game engine)
- Advanced knowledge of game development tools and proprietary tools
- Ability to work successfully in a large team
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Strong work ethic, self-direction, and artistic vision

JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for the design and implementation of Visual Effects for our next AAA project. The candidate should have a passion for making games, strong artistic skills, and an understanding of the technical constraints working within the game environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and optimize particle effects including natural phenomena such as rain or wind, explosions, destruction, smoke, and fire
- Create and iteratively develop game assets including geometry, full screen, and surface shader effects from inception to final review on the target hardware within the game engine
- Follow concept art, story boards, written descriptions, and scripts to prototype and implement FX in game
- Work closely with fellow artists, effects system programmers and game designers
- Work closely and with direction Creative Leadership to create high quality visual effects
- Any other ad-hoc duties, if necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong artistic skills and understanding Traditional Art and Animation principles
- Ability to create fully optimized and hyper realistic in-game VFX for a wide range of system requirements
- Have experience using a real time game engine (Unreal Engine, Unity or any 3D game engine)
- Advanced knowledge of most game development tools and ability to master proprietary tools and development processes
- Ability to work successfully in a large team of other artists, programmers, and game designers
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Strong work ethic, self-direction and artistic vision
