Job Summary
The VFX Supervisor determines the overall technical approach and provides leadership to achieve desired visual effects. They act as a creative liaison between the facility and the client, translating the director's vision into art/technical direction. Responsibilities include estimating resources, budgets, and schedules; ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery; monitoring project progress; supervising staff; reviewing and approving work; and conducting performance reviews. Fluency in Korean is required. The role involves collaborating with the director, guiding creative responses to feedback, and establishing performance standards. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of VFX technical and artistic aspects, along with experience leading large teams on feature films and/or TV shows within the Korean film industry.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the creation and/or enhancement of the Director’s vision for the production
- Translate the vision into art/technical direction for the production
- Guide the development of creative responses to feedback
- Determine the overall technical approach and provides technical leadership for visual effects for production, pre-and post-production
- Estimate and establish resource requirements, budgets, schedules, and performance standards for the production
- Accountable for on-time, on-budget execution, and delivery, as well as quality, of all effects, work for the project
- Monitor project progress, directs staff, and participates in plate shoots
- Supervise and direct the work of several digital effects disciplines
- Review, critique, adjust, and approve work created in advance of the Director’s review
- Conduct performance reviews and provides regular performance feedback to senior direct reports
- Participate with senior leadership in the development of company-wide standards to resolve or avoid issues that might erode competitive advantage
Qualifications
- Minimum (6) years leading live-action visual effects experience on feature films and/or TV shows
- Experience in Korean film industry highly desirable
- Experience in leading and mentoring large teams and large projects
- Pro-active problem solver who demonstrates a strong sense of creativity and respect for aesthetics
- Command a broad knowledge of technologies including 2D and 3D software
- Must be confident, well-spoken, and have an understanding of on-set etiquette and client sensibilities
- Ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas clearly (written/verbal)
- Well rounded working knowledge of the technical and artistic aspects of live-action and visual effects
