Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Vice President, Commercial Global Product Management - Mining to drive global product strategy, commercial excellence, and revenue growth. This strategic leader will focus on customer engagement, identifying growth opportunities in new markets, and partnering across product, engineering, operations, digital, and regional commercial teams. The role involves understanding customer pain points, driving continuous improvement, and pulling cross-functional teams to meet customer needs from cost to performance and market share. Key responsibilities include owning the end-to-end product lifecycle, translating voice-of-customer insights into actionable strategies, and leading teams to achieve customer commitments and business targets.

*This position requires experience in the mining equipment industry or an industrial equipment industry.

Role Summary

The Vice President, Commercial Global Product Management - Mining will serve as a strategic leader responsible for driving global product strategy, commercial excellence, and revenue growth across Wabtec’s mining portfolio. This role will lead customer engagement, while also identifying opportunities for growth in new markets and segments. The VP will partner cross-functionally across product, engineering, operations, digital, and regional commercial teams to deliver long-term growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with customers around the globe, learn their pain points, drive continuous improvement to serve their needs, discover opportunities to grow the business and then pulling the cross functional teams across the company to serve the customer needs, all the way from cost, lead time, performance, value and market share. 
  • Work with global customers and mines to seek opportunities to grow the mining business.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle across the mining portfolio, aligning product roadmaps with evolving customer and market needs.
  • Translate voice-of-customer (VOC) and market insights into actionable product development and enhancement strategies.
  • Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
  • Lead cross functional teams across Wabtec to deliver upon customer commitments and business targets. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years in Mining industry Sales, and/or Sales leadership
  • Proven track record of managing complex global customer relationships and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of mining industry dynamics, trends, and operational priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in global product strategy and lifecycle management.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred; bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field required.
  • Willingness to travel globally as needed (25–40%).
  • Strong business and financial acumen, demonstrated commercial savviness
  • Knowledge of regional market dynamics, customer needs, and go-to-market strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a strategic vision/roadmap
  • Ability to interface, navigate and influence across all levels of Wabtec’s organization to drive execution of the strategy
  • Experience in developing and maintaining customer relationships, strong customer service mindset
  • Experience developing pricing models optimized for customer segments
  • Experience leading change

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$194,700.00-$277,400.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus and equity offerings, if eligible.
