Must Have

  • Supervise and execute environmental sampling activities (water, soil, sediments) in strict compliance with technical guidelines and regulations.

  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of NCh ISO 17020:2012 standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of operating procedures for water and sediment sampling.
  • Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting in-situ parameter measurement equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar supervisory positions within environmental sampling and analysis.
  • Health compatible with the position for work at high geographical altitude.
  • Class B driver's license with two years of seniority.
  • Clean driving record.

The Water Component Supervisor plays a fundamental role in ensuring the highest standards of environmental sampling and analysis. This position demands a commitment to excellence, compliance with regulatory guidelines, and leadership in maintaining safety and quality standards.

1. Supervise and execute environmental sampling activities, including water, soil, and sediment analysis, in strict conformity with technical guidelines and applicable regulations to meet service requirements.

2. Assume full responsibility for the optimal operation and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and supplies related to the position's functions. Promptly report any damage or need for replacement to ensure continuity of operations.

3. Demonstrate unwavering compliance with internal Operating Regulations, meticulously documenting daily activities directly related to the position's responsibilities.

4. Rigorously apply all safety standards, control measures, and organizational and environmental policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

5. Provide decisive leadership and guidance to ensure the technical competence, safety, and integrity of all personnel under direct supervision.

6. Implement and maintain strict quality control measures in all operations to ensure full compliance with regulatory guidelines in the execution of sampling activities. This includes supervising the proper use of equipment, on-site determinations, and adherence to established control programs.

Requirements

The selected candidate for the Water Component Supervisor position must possess the following fundamental qualifications:

1. A university degree or a higher technical qualification in the environmental field or a related career is mandatory.

2. Extensive knowledge and experience in sampling methodologies for various water sources, including, but not limited to, drinking water, wastewater, surface water, groundwater, and sediments.

3. Extensive knowledge and practical application of NCh ISO 17020:2012 standards.

4. Thorough knowledge of operating procedures for water and sediment sampling, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

5. Proficiency in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of in-situ parameter measurement equipment, including pH meters, conductivity meters, thermometers, turbidimeters, chlorine analyzers, dissolved oxygen meters, and flow measurement devices.

6. Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to effectively guide and mentor team members in a professional environment.

7. A minimum of 5 years of experience in similar supervisory positions within the environmental sampling and analysis sector.
