Onward Search is hiring an App Store Optimization Specialist for a fully remote, part-time, 12-month contract role based in Los Angeles, California. This specialist will join a leading American video game developer to enhance the visibility of their mobile apps in stores like Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The role involves collaborating with brand and product teams, managing game roadmaps, working with first-party partners for promotional support, and analyzing key metrics in a dynamic gaming environment.

Join our client, a leading American video game developer, publisher, and esports tournament organizer, as a Mobile Featuring & ASO (App Store Optimization) Specialist. In this role, you will enhance the visibility of the client’s mobile apps in app stores such as the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You’ll collaborate with brand and product teams, manage game roadmaps and marketing plans, and work closely with first-party partners to secure promotional support. This opportunity blends creative marketing, analytics, and partner collaboration in a dynamic gaming environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the client’s mobile app visibility within app stores like the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Produce first-party presentations with brand and product teams, providing actionable insights and feedback on format, content, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage game roadmaps and shared marketing plans to keep internal and external teams up to date on key business and marketing plan details.
  • Work with first-party partners to secure promotional support for upcoming content by prioritizing top campaigns and in-app events.
  • Manage key marketing assets and materials across internal stakeholders and publishing partners for digital and partner marketing campaigns.
  • Manage self-promotional tools on Google and Apple (e.g., Google Play Promotional Content Cards and App Store In-App Event Cards) to ensure patch news and game updates are shared with players.
  • Analyze and track key metrics on how games leverage platform features.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AirTable, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
  • Proficiency with mobile partner portals such as App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
  • Project management experience managing external and internal stakeholders.
  • Related partner management or business operations experience in a gaming, media, or consumer web/mobile services company.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
