You will be part of a team designing, automating, and deploying services on behalf of our customers to AWS. The role involves architecting and building highly scalable, cloud-native applications on the AWS platform using core developer services. You will leverage new technology paradigms like serverless and containers, and migrate monolithic applications to microservices architectures. Advising on AWS best practices and influencing infrastructure architecture through application development expertise are key responsibilities. This position requires hands-on coding and reviewing code, with experience in Agile development methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
Must have:
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Recent coding experience in 2+ languages (Java, Python, etc.)
- Hands-on recent development and code review capability
- 5+ years as a technical specialist in customer-facing roles
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience with CI/CD
Good to have:
- Cloud Certifications
- AWS platform application development experience
- Container and serverless technology experience
- Experience with IaC and DevOps
- Experience with Jenkins
- Experience with configuration management platforms (Chef, Puppet, etc.)

Job Summary:
You will be part of a team designing, automating, and deploying services on behalf of our customers to AWS in a way that allows these services to automatically heal themselves if things go south. We have deep experience applying cloud architecture techniques in virtually every industry. Every week is different and the problems you will be challenged to solve are constantly evolving. We build solutions using infrastructure-as-code so our customers can refine and reuse these processes again and again - all without having to come back to us for additional deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams.
- Lead technical and design discussions with IT executives to help enterprises speed their adoption of new technologies and practices.
- Architect and build highly scalable, cloud-native applications on the AWS platform using core developer services such as: API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB and ECS.
- Leverage new technology paradigms (e.g., serverless, containers, microservices).
- Migrate monolithic applications to microservices architectures.
- Advise on implementing AWS best practices.
- Influence infrastructure architecture by sharing your application development expertise.
- Willingness to travel to client locations and deliver professional services.
Required Qualifications:
- BS level technical degree. Additional experience may substitute the for the degree.
- 8 + years of software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more modern programing languages such as: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Swift, Node.js, Python, Go, or Ruby
- Hands-on recent development experience and capability. You will be expected to write and review code.
- 5+ years of experience as a technical specialist in Customer-facing roles.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cloud Certifications
- Demonstrated success as a software developer, application architect, product manager, CTO, or consultant working with various platforms.
- Architecting, designing and developing applications on the AWS platform.
- Designing and building application using Container and serverless technologies.
- Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability.
- Good exposure to Agile software development and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration and automated deployment.
- Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. Jenkins).
- Experience with configuration management platforms (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible).
- Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems.
- Presenting at public events such as technology conferences, hackathons, blogging, writing on technical forums, etc.
- Experience working directly with customers, partners or third-party developers.

•The anticipated starting pay range for Colorado is: $143,700 - $210,760.
•The anticipated starting pay range for the states of Hawaii and New York (not including NYC) is: $153,000 - $224,400.
•The anticipated starting pay range for California, New York City and Washington is: $167,400 - $245,520.
Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
