The Associate Product Manager (APM) works on product-, market-, and customer-facing activities for Content Services solutions. This role involves gathering requirements, creating user stories, and collaborating with engineering, QA, and documentation teams to deliver solutions. The APM also supports marketing activities and coordinates with Product Marketing. Ideal for early-career individuals or those transitioning into product management, this role requires curiosity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to synthesize information from various sources into actionable insights. Candidates will contribute to product roadmap innovations and engage with customers and partners.
Must have:
  • Support product roadmap innovations through customer research and feedback.
  • Participate in innovation discussions/forums with customers and internal constituents.
  • Collaborate with various teams to validate assumptions.
  • Research product usage for existing technologies.
  • Review and analyze information from Analyst reports.
  • Perform competitive analysis.
  • Create educational materials for new product releases.
  • Support Product Marketing with content for collateral, webinars, newsletters.
  • Create technical whitepapers highlighting product differentiation.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity/previous experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Hands-on experience with Distributed operating systems (Linux, Windows)
  • Hands-on experience with Databases and database concepts (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Web Application Servers (WebSphere, Tomcat)
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs
  • Knowledge of Content Management technology (e.g., Mobius, FileNet, OpenText, Documentum, etc.)
  • Familiarity with GenAI concepts/technologies

Job Description Summary:

The Associate Product Manager (APM) will work on activities that are product-, market-, and customer-facing for Rocket’s Content Services solutions. The APM is responsible for addressing product management and supporting marketing activities for selected products in Rocket’s Data Modernization business unit. The APM creates gathers requirements, creates targeted user stories, works closely with customer-facing teams to validate assumptions, and interfaces regularly with Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Information Development (Documentation) teams to produce and deliver exceptional solutions. The APM also coordinates with Product Marketing to support overall business strategies and objectives. This role is perfect for individuals in the beginning stages of their careers or for individuals with previous technical expertise desiring to shift into product management.

You will be at the center of key industry trends and technical change at some of the largest organizations in the world.

Candidates for this position are curious, problem solvers, and able to synthesize information from disparate sources into actionable information and resources. Candidates will participate in a highly collaborative team environment while being an independent self-starting change agent for customers, and the industry. In this position, you will:

  • Support product roadmap innovations through customer research and feedback from both external and internal resources, developing business cases to support investment priorities for existing and new priorities
  • Participate in innovation discussions/forums with groups of customers and varying internal constituents
  • Collaborate with various teams (e.g., other Product Managers, Sales, Customer Success Managers, Professional Services) to validate assumptions
  • Demonstrate to our customers, to our partners, and to each other that Rocket takes our commitments seriously

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research product usage for existing technologies in various business and technical ecosystem contexts and provide input to other Product Managers, Product Engineering, and Product Marketing teams
  • Support product roadmap innovations for existing and emerging technologies through customer research and feedback, using both external and internal resources, developing business cases to support investment priorities and prioritization
  • Participate in innovation discussions/forums with groups of customers and varying internal constituents
  • Review and analyze information gleaned from Analyst reports, inquiries, and discussions
  • Perform competitive analysis as required
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams (Sales/Sales Engineers, Customer Solutions Engineers (professional services), Customer Success Managers, etc.)
  • Create educational materials to support new product releases, working in tandem with Learning Services team members
  • Support Product Marketing with content for new collateral, webinars, newsletters, etc.
  • Create technical whitepapers highlighting product differentiation(s)

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of Product Management experience (experience with enterprise software solutions preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to create and sustain strong working relationships with peer stakeholders
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and comprehensively understand software solutions
  • Language skills: fluent spoken/written English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and a demonstrable background in storytelling and persuasion
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, regardless of timeline and/or time zone variations
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including Teams
  • Familiarity with the following technologies: distributed operating systems (Windows/Linux), databases/database concepts, Web Application Servers, REST APIs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity/previous experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Hands-on experience with the following:
  • Distributed operating systems (Linux, Windows).
  • Databases and database concepts (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Web Application Servers (WebSphere, Tomcat)
  • REST APIs
  • Knowledge of Content Management technology (e.g., Mobius, FileNet, OpenText, Documentum, etc.) preferred, but not a barrier to hire
  • Familiarity with GenAI concepts/technologies

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Travel Requirements: ~5%
