Job Description

The Deal Desk Specialist is a critical operational role within Rocket Software's Global Sales team, responsible for processing quote approval requests, supporting the sales team throughout the sales cycle, and maintaining corporate governance for sales transactions. This foundational position offers opportunities to develop skills and advance within the Deal Desk career path. The role involves serving as a Subject Matter Expert for quoting, pricing, deal flow, and order processing, providing guidance on complex deal structures, and collaborating with various internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely transactions.
Must have:
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for quoting, pricing, deal flow, and order processing for the sales organization.
  • Proactively assume end-to-end responsibility for assigned quote approval requests.
  • Provide guidance on deal flow process, business terms and conditions.
  • Provide guidance to Sales on complex deal structures.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Sales, Order Management, Finance, Product, and Legal teams on contractual redlines.
  • Provide a high level of communication, coordination, and support throughout the sales process ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Work with the Finance and Sales to ensure sales transacts quickly and efficiently during the approval process.
  • Follow established Deal Desk processes and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for logging partner deal registrations.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Deal Desk, Deal Review or similar role in the software industry.
  • Knowledge of pricing and revenue recognition principles.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and colleagues, as well as customers.
  • Experience working with Salesforce, or other CRM tool.
  • High computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Description Summary:

The Deal Desk Specialist is a critical operational role within Rocket' Software Global Sales team. and is responsible for processing quote approval requests, supporting the sales team throughout the sales cycle, and maintaining corporate governance for sales transactions.

This role serves as a foundational position within the Deal Desk career path, providing opportunities to develop skills, gain experience, and potentially advance to more senior roles within the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for quoting, pricing, deal flow, and order processing for the sales organization.
  • Proactively assume end-to-end responsibility for assigned quote approval requests.:
  • Provide guidance on deal flow process, business terms and conditions, and elevate specialized issues for approval and resolution.
  • Provide guidance to Sales on complex deal structures including high-value transactions during corporate review and approval.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Sales, Order Management, Finance, Product, and Legal teams on contractual redlines to efficiently process agreements.
  • Provide a high level of communication, coordination, and support throughout the sales process ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Work with the Finance and Sales to ensure sales transacts quickly and efficiently during the approval process.
  • Follow established Deal Desk processes and procedures and escalate complex or unusual order situations to senior team members and/or management as necessary.
  • Assume responsibility for logging partner deal registrations while taking appropriate actions to address any discrepancies.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Deal Desk, Deal Review or similar role in the software industry.
  • Knowledge of pricing and revenue recognition principles
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and colleagues, as well as customers
  • Experience working with Salesforce, or other CRM tool
  • High computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SFDC, CPQ, CLM, and DocuSign experience a plus.

The base salary range for this role is $62,800.00 - $78,500.00 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
