The Opportunity

“This is a unique hybrid role within FICO’s Design System team, where you will combine your expertise in software testing and automation with your exceptional documentation skills. Building upon the success of our IRIS component library, your contributions will directly enhance our ability to maintain quality and consistency across our design system, benefiting teams across Product, Scores, and Marketing.” – Sr Director-Software Engineering

What You’ll Contribute

• Develop and maintain automated test suites, ensuring robust quality assurance for our design system components.
• Clearly identify, document, and communicate software defects and usability issues.
• Perform testing for internationalization (i18n) to ensure components function effectively across multiple locales.
• Champion accessibility standards, performing automated and manual accessibility tests.
• Continuously refine testing frameworks based on stakeholder feedback and evolving requirements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive, user-focused technical documentation, including component specifications, usage guidelines, and accessibility standards.
• Work closely with developers and designers to ensure documentation accurately reflects system functionality and usage.
• Support adoption of the design system by delivering clear, actionable documentation and guidelines.

What We’re Seeking

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, preferably with automated testing tools like Jest, Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Exceptional writing and documentation skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and accessible language.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Angular, React, or similar.
• Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
• Previous experience working with design systems or component libraries is a plus.
• Experience with documentation tools such as Storybook, Markdown, or Confluence is preferred.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines is a plus.

• The targeted base pay range for this role is: $84,000 to $132,000 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills and experience.
