Job Description

Reporting to the “Sourcing Commodity Leader, Machining, EMEA”, you will work closely with suppliers and colleagues from different countries with the objective to drive the Global strategy across our Sites in the EMEA Region. This role involves comprehensive commodity management, supplier relationship management, budget forecasting, RFQ handling, project sourcing, and operational responsibilities. You will establish commodity strategies, manage supplier panels, drive performance reviews, and lead negotiations for contracts and agreements. The position requires frequent travel.
Must have:
  • Establish strategy for assigned commodity, including Make or Buy.
  • Develop technical and regional/supplier market intelligence.
  • Implement strategy through panel policy for assigned commodity.
  • Build, qualify, develop, and manage regional supplier panel.
  • Define and deploy supplier risk assessments and sourcing plans.
  • Drive Supplier performance review.
  • Define raw material strategy.
  • Manage relationships with regional suppliers.
  • Drive and monitor new supplier selection process.
  • Build budget, forecast, and STRAP for assigned commodity.
  • Monitor PPI savings monthly and drive action plans.
  • Manage RFQ, offer evaluation, negotiation, and contracting frame agreements.
  • Optimize PO payment terms and implement supplier RPA.
  • Provide supplier vendor list to project buyers before RFQ.
  • Responsible for contracting for new suppliers for the site.
  • Contribute to final negotiations, ensuring leverage of scale effect.
  • Validate supplier selection from project buyers.
  • Participate in Project Sourcing Committee.
  • Drive sourcing competitiveness initiatives for existing/standard parts.
  • Responsible for re-sourcing in serial life.
  • Responsible for contract amendments and renegotiations.
  • Intervene in major supplier issues escalated.

Who will you be working with?

Reporting to the “Sourcing Commodity Leader, Machining, EMEA”, you will work closely with suppliers and colleagues from different countries with the objective to drive the Global strategy across our Sites in the EMEA Region.

What will your typical day look like?

COMMODITY MANAGEMENT AND SUPPLIER PANEL

  • Establishes / declines strategy for assigned commodity, incl. Make or Buy
  • Develops technical and regional / supplier market intelligence for his/her commodities
  • Is responsible for implementing the strategy through panel policy for assigned commodity
  • Builds / qualifies / develops / manages the regional supplier panel for assigned commodity, incl. rationalization of panel
  • Defines and deploys supplier risk assessments & sole, single, dual sourcing plans
  • Drives Supplier performance review
  • Defines raw material strategy

SRM

  • Manages relationship with his/her regional suppliers, be the key point of contact for regional suppliers
  • Drives and monitors the selection process of new suppliers

BUDGET / FORECAST

  • Builds budget, forecast, STRAP for assigned commodity
  • Monitors PPI savings monthly, drive action plans

RFQ (off cycle and serial life)

  • Manages RFQ, offer evaluation, negotiation & contracting frame agreements, off cycle and serial life contracts
  • Optimizes PO payment terms and implement supplier RPA

PROJECT SOURCING

  • Provides supplier vendor list to project buyers before RFQ
  • Is responsible for Contracting for suppliers that are new for the site
  • Contributes to final negotiations, ensuring leverage of scale effect across other ongoing projects
  • Validates supplier selection from project buyers, participate to Project Sourcing Committee

OPERATIONAL

  • Drives sourcing competitiveness initiatives for existing / standard parts, e.g. technical savings with Engineering, RFQ benchmark
  • Is responsible for re-sourcing in serial life
  • Is responsible for contract amendments and renegotiations
  • Intervenes in major supplier issues escalated (after threshold to site sourcing specialist): COPQ / claims negotiations

What do we want to know about you?

Experience:

  • Education in Engineering / Economics / Purchasing
  • +6 years experience in Purchasing
  • Experience in a globalized matrix industrial environment

Hard Skills:

  • Expertise on the commodity Machining
  • Good proficiency with MS Excel
  • Fluent in English (other language is a plus)
  • Skilled multi-cultural negotiator

Soft Skills:

  • Written and oral communications skills
  • Independent and autonomous
  • Proactive, goal-oriented and accountable
  • Strong intercultural knowledge and open minded

Frequent travel trip (~ 30-50%)
