Job Description

As a Communications Lead, you will spearhead external communication campaigns for Nasdaq in Europe, aiming to elevate Nasdaq’s brand as a trusted partner within the financial ecosystem. Your role will be pivotal in driving innovation and fostering stronger economies. In this capacity, you will collaborate directly with senior leaders of Nasdaq’s business and the global communications teams. Building a robust network of media relationships across Europe will be a key aspect of your role. To excel, you need a good understanding of public affairs and the political and regulatory environments, particularly as they pertain to markets, market integrity, and key issues affecting financial institutions.
Must have:
  • Further enhance and protect Nasdaq’s reputation.
  • Work closely with senior management to identify and prioritize communication needs.
  • Cultivate a strong internal network to drive impactful campaigns.
  • Initiate and lead reputational impact campaigns and media engagements.
  • Collaborate with global communications team on issue and crisis management.
  • Proactively identify public relations opportunities and risks.
  • Establish relationships with emerging influencers in media landscape.
  • Develop thought leadership and positioning strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in journalism, communications, business, marketing, or technology.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • At least 7 years of experience in communications/PR, in-house or agency.
  • Experience in capital markets, finance, and/or FinTech industries.
  • Very strong media relations skills.
  • Experience in crisis communication.
  • Very strong writing skills in English.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with external and internal partners.
  • Strong inner drive and motivation, thriving in a high pace environment.

What you will do

  • Further enhance and protect Nasdaq’s reputation.
  • Work closely with senior management to stay on top of company developments and trends to identify and prioritize communication needs and ensure integration and coordination across communication initiatives.
  • Cultivate a strong internal network across Nasdaq’s businesses to drive impactful campaigns aligned with commercial objectives and business and product achievements.
  • Initiate and lead reputational impact campaigns and media engagements across the United Kingdom and Europe.
  • Collaborate with the global communications team on issue management and crisis communication.
  • Proactively identify key public relations opportunities and risks and propose risk mitigation tactics.
  • Establish relationships with emerging influencers within the media landscape to help drive understanding of Nasdaq’s differentiated offerings across a number of different partner groups and a growing number of industries.
  • Develop thought leadership and positioning strategies in support of business leadership.

What we expect

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in journalism, communications, business, marketing, or technology.
  • A great teammate with strong communication, collaboration, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • At least 7 years of proven experience working in communications/PR either in-house or agency – preferably both - with a focus on media relations.
  • Experience from industries in capital markets, finance, and/or FinTech.
  • Very strong media relations skills.
  • Experience in crisis communication.
  • Very strong writing skills in English.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate closely with external clients, suppliers, and internal partners.
  • A strong inner drive and motivation, thriving in a high pace environment.
