About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Desktop Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Windows systems, hardware troubleshooting, networking fundamentals, and remote support tools. This role involves ensuring system reliability, providing efficient support, and maintaining secure computing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and enterprise applications.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Perform software installation, updates, patching, and configuration.
- Manage and monitor networking services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Provide remote technical support using tools such as TeamViewer, AnyDesk, and RDP.
- Implement and manage system imaging, backups, and restore procedures.
- Proactively monitor system performance and apply necessary updates to ensure availability.
- Maintain security standards by applying patches, updates, and compliance best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and networking issues with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Document technical issues, solutions, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Desktop Engineer/System Engineer/System Administrator/IT Support Engineer role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and hardware troubleshooting.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with remote desktop support tools (TeamViewer, AnyDesk, RDP).
- Knowledge of system imaging and backup solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Certifications:
- Cisco CCNA (basic understanding helpful for hardware evaluation)
