Flock Safety is looking for an Electrical Engineer to develop Flock’s new and existing DFR Drones. You will help shape the design process and support transitioning to large-scale manufacturing. This role will make an outsized impact by contributing to the electrical design of one of Flock Safety's newest product lines, as well as, work closely with internal and external engineering teams to deliver best-in-class drones.
Please note: This position will require relocation to Atlanta, Georgia.
Design, prototype, and validate electrical systems for drone platforms, including power distribution, PCB layout, sensors, communication modules, and battery management.
Ability to collaborate on system integration of avionics, cameras, GPS, and wireless modules into drone hardware.
Experience performing schematic capture and PCB design using tools like Altium Designer or KiCad.
Develop and validate power systems, including battery packs, charging solutions, and power regulation circuits.
Experience in EMI/EMC testing and compliance processes to meet regulatory standards (FCC, CE, etc.).
Ability to debug and troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues during development and field testing.
Knowledge and experience in using CAD (SolidWorks) to design aids and/or fixtures for manufacturing or testing
Experience working closely with mechanical and software teams to ensure electrical systems meet functional, safety, and environmental requirements.
Ability to support prototype builds, design for manufacturability (DFM), and transition to production.

Conduct a dive of shipping and planned product architecture
Observe the Flock Culture as it applies to your team and your day to day experience
Contribute immediately and incrementally to an active design, test, or debug investigation
The First 60 Days
Completely understand the high level electrical architecture of the existing Flock ecosystem. Recognize its role in our highly vertical customer offering.
Become involved in ongoing product design effort as needed - join project standups and related channels to observe Flock’s design methodology.
Deliver an initial design concept and a prototype design.
90 Days & Beyond
Demonstrate full proficiency of all Flock development tools and demonstrate awareness of all Flock development processes.
Become highly available and communicative as a resource to your immediate team and cross functional stakeholders
Assume full ownership and responsibility of outcomes to the business - your impact at Flock will strongly influence the health of the business, positive outcomes to customers, and real-time reduction in societal crime.
Maturing the design and supporting the transition of the design into a large-scale manufacturing

The Technical Assessment: Our technical assessments seek to test the hard skills required to do the job. Engineers may find themselves in coding interviews or architecture discussions, sales roles may present mock discovery calls, and leadership roles may craft 90 day plans. Your recruiter will inform you of which assessment you will be assigned and ensure you are fully prepared for your big day. Expect to defend all relevant design work in your resume.
The Executive Review: A chance to meet an executive and view Flock from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more.
In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $115,200-$158,400 as well as stock options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
