Job Summary

Job Description

The ESD/EMC team at NXP designs, tests, and integrates solutions to ensure the robustness and operation of products against ElectroStatic and ElectroMagnetic aggressions. They develop simulation methods to predict electromagnetic behavior of integrated circuits. This internship focuses on developing a simulation signoff method for conducted emissions, as defined by the CISPR 25 standard, to anticipate EMC issues earlier in the design process and support pre-compliance validation of analog and mixed-signal boards.
Must have:
  • Develop a fast and efficient simulation methodology for conducted emissions in accordance with CISPR 25.
  • Create reusable models (S-parameters, transfer functions) for cables and probes.
  • Characterize common-mode behavior and develop transfer functions for key components.
  • Integrate models into a fast simulation workflow for early design phases.
  • Validate the simulation method with reference measurements or setups.
  • Produce a technical report detailing the modeling approach, simulation results, and practical guidelines.
  • Bac +5, last year of engineering school or master degree in analog electronics/microelectronics/EMC.
  • Knowledge in RF, microelectronic measurements, electronics, simulations, and notions of EMC.
  • Good level of English.
Perks:
  • Online and offline learning opportunities for core and professional skills development.
  • Commitment to sustainability.
  • Inclusive work environment.
  • Programs focused on diversity, inclusion, and equality.

Job Details

The ESD/EMC (ElectroStatic Discharge / ElectroMagnetic Compatibility) team designs, tests and integrates solutions to guarantee robustness and operation of these products subject to ElectroStatic and ElectroMagnetic aggressions. To do so, the team develops simulations methods to predict the electromagnetic behavior of integrated circuits present in stressful environment.

The CISPR 25 standard defines measurement setups and limits for conducted and radiated emissions in vehicles. Among these, current measurement method using LISNs (Line Impedance Stabilization Networks) is critical for evaluating conducted emissions.

In this context, the intern will join the ESD/EMC team to develop a simulation signoff method for the conducted emission in current method as defined in CISPR 25. This signoff simulation bench will help to anticipate EMC issues earlier in the design process and support pre-compliance validation of analog and mixed-signal boards.

Your Responsibilities

During this internship, you will participate to develop a fast and efficient simulation methodology to analyze conducted emissions in accordance with CISPR 25.

  • A simulation methodology enabling rapid CE analysis aligned with CISPR 25.
  • A set of reusable models (S-parameters, transfer functions) for cables and probes.
  • Characterize common-mode behavior and develop transfer functions for key components.
  • Integrate the models into a fast simulation workflow usable during early design phases.
  • Validate the simulation method with reference measurements or setups.
  • A technical report detailing the modeling approach, simulation results, and practical guidelines.

Your Profile

Education level: Bac +5, last year of engineering school or master degree in analog electronics/microelectronics/EMC

Experience / Knowledge: RF / microelectronic measurements / electronics / simulations / Notions of EMC

A good level of English is required, working in an international multi-site team.
