As an Engineering Delivery Manager at Thales in Bordeaux, you will lead the modernization and obsolescence treatment for airborne missions. You will define and manage engineering strategies, ensuring cost, planning, and quality compliance for system, software, and hardware deliverables. Key responsibilities include validating technical deliverables, managing risks, developing technical proposals, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. You will also implement control plans, KPIs, and lead project reviews, focusing on innovative solutions and value creation for clients. This role requires 5-10 years of experience in material engineering, with at least 3 years in engineering deliverables management and avionics product development.
Must have:
  • Define and lead an effective development and IVVQ strategy.
  • Identify and validate technical deliverables from internal and subcontracting teams.
  • Challenge development logic, risks, and opportunities.
  • Participate in technical proposals and quotes during the offer phase.
  • Ensure technical interface with hardware, low-level software, and electronic, mechanical, and industrial design offices.
  • Manage the execution of the Work Package (WP) by ensuring value creation.
  • Structure activities via WBS, OBS, planning, risk, and priority management.
  • Develop a control plan ensuring client costs, deadlines, and quality.
  • Implement KPIs and ensure reporting.
  • Propose innovative solutions, coordinate teams, and lead project reviews.
  • 5-10 years experience in material engineering.
  • At least 3 years experience in engineering deliverables management.
  • Experience in offer management.
  • Experience in avionics product development.

Your daily life

On a cutting-edge Bordeaux Campus, between ocean and vineyards, we design and develop systems, equipment, and services to ensure the success of our clients' airborne missions.

As an Engineering Delivery Manager within the MTO (Modernization & Obsolescence Treatment) department, you will work for Offers & Projects to ensure compliance with costs, planning, and quality for all engineering services (system, software, and hardware for the solution and all elements of the solution) within the framework of the projects entrusted to you:

  • Define and lead an effective development and IVVQ strategy, respecting engineering fundamentals.
  • Identify and validate technical deliverables from internal and subcontracting teams at each milestone.
  • Challenge development logic, risks, and opportunities.
  • Participate in the elaboration of technical proposals and quotes during the offer phase.
  • Ensure the technical interface with hardware, low-level software, and electronic, mechanical, and industrial design offices.
  • Manage the execution of the Work Package (WP) by ensuring value creation compliant with user requirements and performance.
  • Structure activities via WBS, OBS, planning, risk, and priority management.
  • Develop a control plan ensuring client costs, deadlines, and quality. Implement KPIs and ensure reporting.
  • Propose innovative solutions, coordinate teams, and lead internal and client project reviews.

Your profile

Graduated from higher education (Engineer or equivalent), you have 5 to 10 years of experience in an equivalent position in the field of material engineering, including at least 3 years in managing engineering deliverables.

You have experience in the field of offers as well as in the development of avionics products.

You know how to lead a team by setting priorities around a calendar, technical, and financial objective, and work cross-functionally within multidisciplinary teams with strong technical business skills across different sites in France and abroad.
