- High school diploma or equivalent plus 1+ years of relevant machine operation experience (or equivalent)
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes
- Basic knowledge of computers, Windows, and Microsoft Office
- Mechanical aptitude (knowledge of equipment such as motors, pumps, valves, etc.)
- Good math skills including the ability to perform simple calculations when provided the necessary inputs
- Knowledge of extrusion a plus
Physical requirements include:
- Stand and walk 90% of shift
- Reach, bend, squat, and climb stairs frequently during a shift
- Perform moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs) several times per shift
- Use small hand tools
- Learn to drive mobile powered equipment such as forklift, pallet mule, and scissor lift
Work environment can include:
- Frequent exposure to high noise levels requiring hearing protection
- Frequent exposure to hot equipment surfaces (up to 600F)
- Occasional exposure to temperature extremes below 32F and above 90F
- Occasional exposure to equipment that may interfere with pacemakers
- Rare exposure to conditions requiring respirator PPE
