- Create and compose complete biomes by harmonizing textures, materials, and assets to generate believable and immersive environments
- Efficiently produce and integrate assets and textures into the game engine, ensuring accurate and high-performance rendering
- Collaborate closely with the art and technical teams to find the best solutions to challenges related to materials, biomes, and optimization
- Contribute to balancing artistic direction, technical constraints, and gameplay needs
- Participate in improving pipelines, workflows, and material libraries
Skills and Expertise
- Excellent command of Substance Designer (node-based, procedural, and adaptable workflows)
- Strong understanding of Physically-Based Rendering (PBR) and its applications for realistic textures
- Proficiency with other creation and sampling tools: Substance Sampler, Photoshop, and openness to Quixel, ZBrush, etc.
- Good knowledge of integration and optimization in a modern game engine (shader management, texture sizes, density, LODs)
- Ability to create varied and coherent biomes, with a strong sense of composition and visual storytelling
- Creativity and autonomy in designing original textures and assets tailored to environmental needs
- Excellent artistic sensibility, attention to detail, and understanding of production constraints
Requirements
- Hands-on experience (8+ years) working on biome or natural environment creation projects in video games (AAA experience is a plus)

- Ability to work under production constraints while maintaining a high level of quality
- Proficiency in functional English, both spoken and written, enabling effective collaboration with international teams and comprehension of technical documentation.
Bonus Points
- Knowledge and use of photogrammetry or scanning techniques, and ability to effectively integrate them into an asset creation workflow
- Experience with complementary tools such as Quixel, ZBrush, or procedural workflows
- College or university degree in art, multimedia, 3D, or equivalent
We love hearing from anyone who is enthusiastic about changing the games industry. Not sure you meet all qualifications? Let us decide! Research shows that women and members of other under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they often do! At Activision Blizzard, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.
