Job Description

This Field Service Engineer position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of medical devices such as MRI, X-ray diagnostic equipment, ultrasound diagnostic equipment, and vital sign monitors. The role ensures that medical professionals and patients can use Philips products with confidence. It also involves understanding customer needs, explaining maintenance contracts, and providing service-related information. The ideal candidate will be a technical professional committed to continuously improving their skills to provide high-quality service.
Must have:

Field Service Engineer (Product: Vital Sign Monitors, working in Kobe):

This is a customer support position primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of medical devices (such as MRI / X-ray diagnostic equipment / ultrasound diagnostic equipment / vital sign monitors), providing services to ensure that medical professionals and patients can use our products with peace of mind. Over the long period of using our products, you will also be responsible for thoroughly understanding customer needs and explaining post-sales maintenance contracts and services. We are looking for applicants who are committed to continuously improving their skills as a technician with the goal of providing high-quality service to customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Installation, regular inspection, and repair (emergency/scheduled) of medical devices.
  • Promptly and effectively escalate customer issues.
  • Provide prompt reports and proposals to customers and internally.
  • Develop the technical, interpersonal skills, and knowledge necessary for service engineers.
  • Continuously work on improving the technical capabilities of assigned equipment.
  • Report equipment safety issues identified based on quality policy.
  • Propose maintenance and repair services to customers and handle repair billing.
  • In some cases, provide phone support, remote diagnostics, etc., in response to customer requests.

Required Experience/Skills / Desired Candidate Profile

Aircraft mechanics, automobile mechanics, multifunction device/elevator maintenance personnel, IT industry professionals, etc., are all welcome!

  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, or information technology.
  • Experience with systems built with multiple devices.
  • Willingness to relocate (relocation allowances available).
  • Driver's license required.
  • Network knowledge is a plus.
  • Teamwork skills (scheduling within your group, collaborating with sales, headquarters, etc., as a team often occurs).
  • Individuals with a science background are highly welcome. Especially those who majored in electrical/electronic/mechanical/medical technology at a technical college, vocational school, or university.
  • Language: Extremely fluent in Japanese, including speaking, reading, and writing.

Application Requirements:

  • Contract Period: Indefinite
  • Probationary Period: Yes (generally 6 months from joining date)
  • Work Location: Kobe Office
  • Scope of change: All company locations. Possibility of transfer to any company location due to reassignment.
  • Working Hours: 9:00-17:30, Break time: Generally 12:00-13:00
  • Flextime system with no core hours.
  • Working hours may vary due to night repair responses, etc.
  • Holidays: Every Saturday (designated holiday), Sunday (legal holiday), national holidays, New Year's holidays (December 29 - January 4)
  • Leave: Paid leave: Up to 20 days in the first year (varies by joining month), Care Leave (10 days per year), Sick Leave (up to 30 days per year), etc.
  • Overtime: Yes, approximately 30 hours per month.
  • Salary: Base salary Annual income 4.5 to 6 million JPY
  • Includes 30 hours of fixed overtime pay.
  • Fixed overtime pay is provided even if no overtime is worked, and any excess will be paid separately.
  • Bonus: Incentive
  • Incentives are paid every March. However, the amount varies depending on company performance, departmental performance, and individual evaluation.
  • Those who join mid-year will have their amount calculated on a pro-rata basis for the eligible period.
  • Insurance: Social insurance (Employees' Pension Insurance, Health Insurance), Labor insurance (Employment Insurance, Workers' Accident Compensation Insurance)
  • Retirement Plan: Two-tiered system of lump-sum retirement payment and defined contribution pension.
  • Training System: Equipment and technical training in Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, and support system for obtaining work qualifications.
  • Other: PhiliFlex points: 72,000 points (1 point = 1 JPY).
