Job Description

This internship offers insights into the development of silicon-based micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) acceleration sensors at Robert Bosch GmbH. Interns will be involved in developing the newest sensor generation, gaining experience in MEMS, ASICs, measurement technology, and current state-of-the-art practices. Responsibilities include planning and implementing experiments, simulations, big data analysis, machine learning, and automation of measurements, culminating in presenting results to the development team.
Good To Have:
  • Driver license class B (valid in Germany).
  • German language skills.
Must Have:
  • Studies in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Microsystem Engineering, Computer Science or comparable.
  • Knowledge of programming and simulation (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C).
  • Experience in laboratory measurements, data analysis and evaluation, measurement technology.
  • Ability to set clear goals, stay focused, organize work efficiently, and collaborate effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for MEMS based sensors, new technologies, and experimental team work.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Enrollment at university is required.

Job Description

During your internship you will gain insights into the development of acceleration sensors which are silicon-based micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS). You will be involved in the development of the newest sensor generation. We can offer regularly project related tasks of the following areas.

  • You will get experienced in sensors, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) and application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) as well as in the corresponding measurement technology incl. the introduction to the current state of the art.
  • Furthermore, you will become active in planning and implementing experiments, simulations, in the analysis of big data, machine learning and automation of measurements/measurement technology.
  • Finally, you will present your experimental results and evaluations about the performance of prototypes or high-volume types to the development team.

Qualifications

  • Education: studies in the field of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Microsystem Engineering, Computer Science or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge: of programming and simulation (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C); experience in laboratory measurements, data analysis and evaluation, measurement technology
  • Qualification (Instructor aptitude test, driver's license): driver license class B (valid in Germany) is a plus
  • Personality and Working Practice: you excel at setting clear goals, staying focused on tasks, organizing your work efficiently, and collaborating effectively with team members
  • Enthusiasm: for MEMS based sensors, new technologies and experimental work in a team
  • Languages: fluent in English, German is a plus

Additional Information

Start: mid-November/December 2025

Duration: 5 - 12 months (if the total duration of the internship exceeds 6 months, confirmation as mandatory internship is required for the entire period according to the study regulations)
