Job Summary

Job Description

The Legal Manager role involves comprehensive contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating business agreements, MoUs, and amendments. Responsibilities extend to drafting and reviewing HR, Admin, and support function documents, and maintaining contract records. Litigation management includes drafting legal notices, liaising with external counsels, and maintaining litigation registers. The position also focuses on regulatory compliance and policy development, formulating checklists, monitoring statutory compliance, and advising management on legal implications of internal policies. Additional duties include providing legal support, assisting with trademark registration and IP record maintenance, and staying updated on statutory regulations.
Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in law
  • 8-12 years of legal experience
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience in an in-house legal team
  • Assistance in trademark registration and IP maintenance

Job Details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Contract Management:

  • Drafting, review and negotiation of business Agreements, MoUs, Amendment/Addendum to existing agreements.
  • Drafting/review of Agreements/documents/letters related to HR, Admin and other support functions of the company.
  • Maintenance of contracts – record keeping

Litigation Management:

  • Drafting of Legal notices (including payment demand notices) and Reply notices.
  • Liase with external counsels for ongoing litigations of the company and monitor progress of the legal cases.
  • Litigation register maintenance.

Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development:

  • Formulate legal compliance check-lists and monitor compliance with statutory obligations
  • Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
  • Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements

Others:

  • Provide legal support and advice to management on relevant legal issues.
  • Assistance in registration of trademarks & maintenance of Intellectual Property records.
  • Keeping abreast with current changes on the statutory regulations and contribute to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the company’s legal function

Profile

  • Basic qualification: Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputed institution.
  • 8-12 years of experience in any law firm or in-house legal team of companies.
  • Required Skills:
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and individually.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office tools.
