Job Description

As a Manufacturing Planner within Thales Netherlands B.V.'s Industry department, you will be responsible for creating and executing operational plans for the assembly and testing of radar systems and/or subsystems. Your dynamic work week involves collaborating with various internal departments like APRUs, purchasing, master planning, and quality control. You will manage the production plan for one or more systems, create production orders in the ERP system, proactively monitor progress, and address disruptions. You will also coordinate with internal suppliers and align priorities with Master Planners and Supply Chain Managers, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Experience in a production environment.

About the team

Within the Industry department of Thales Nederland B.V., manufacturing planners are responsible for drawing up and implementing the operational plan for the assembly and testing of radar systems and/or subsystems. The Industry department consists of several sub-departments (APRU's), each specializing in a system and/or various subsystems. For our head office in Hengelo, we are looking for a Manufacturing Planner to manage and support one or more APRU's.

About your future job as Manufacturing Planner

Your work week is varied and dynamic, with various internal collaborations, such as with APRU's, purchasing, master planning, and quality control. No day is the same. You attend multidisciplinary meetings, adopt a customer-oriented approach, and maintain the ERP system and Windchill PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).

Your role

As a Manufacturing Planner, you manage the production plan for one or more systems and the associated APRU's. Together with the Supply Chain Manager and the Activity or APRU Manager, you ensure a balanced workload distribution.

You create production orders in the ERP system and proactively monitor the progress of production planning. In case of changes and disruptions in the process, you react decisively and solution-oriented. In addition, you manage internal suppliers and have daily contact with the APRU's.

Together with the Master Planner and the Industrial Work Package Manager or Supply Chain Manager, you determine the priorities in the production sequence and ensure that production orders are completed within the set time. In this role, you work together with many different people at various levels within the organization.

Thales Nederland B.V. is fully engaged in the growth and development of its production, whereby initiating and participating in improvement processes within the Supply Chain is an essential part of this function.

  • Manage the production plan.
  • Proactively resolve production bottlenecks or collaborate with the right colleagues to achieve this.
  • Clearly communicate the progress of production orders with relevant stakeholders.
  • Align priorities with stakeholders, the Master Planner, Supply Chain Manager, or APRU Manager.
  • Ensure a balanced workload in relation to capacity and strive for continuous improvement.

  • Has an MBO+ or HBO education, preferably in Manufacturing, Industrial or Supply Chain Management.
  • Has experience in a production environment and is familiar with the associated dynamics. Experience with complex machine construction is a plus.

  • Has knowledge of or affinity with LEAN.
  • Communicates effectively and has an eye for detail.
  • Works accurately and structured.
  • Is proactive and assertive.
  • Has a good command of the Dutch language (min C1), both verbally and in writing.
