Job Description

UMS, a subsidiary of Airbus and Thales, is seeking a Microwave Electronics Engineer (M/F) for its Villebon-sur-Yvette site. The role involves participating in the development of new technologies, studying failure modes, investigating associated mechanisms, and defining reliability evaluation and qualification plans. The engineer will collaborate with process and product engineers, ensuring technological variants meet reliability requirements and presenting results. This position requires significant experience in semiconductors, reliability, and failure mechanisms, strong communication skills, initiative, and proactive problem-solving.

WHO ARE YOU?

With higher education in electronics, you have acquired significant experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly in the field of reliability and failure mechanisms.

You enjoy working in a team and know how to motivate your partners within the company to maximize the efficiency and chances of success of our development projects, in particular, thanks to strong communication skills.

You demonstrate initiative and work proactively to resolve or avoid technical difficulties. You master complex problems through good analytical skills.

A very good level of written and spoken English is essential for this position.

This position may involve travel in France and abroad.

WHAT WE CAN ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER:

Integrated into the Front-end Technologies and Packaging Development department

Your main missions are:

  • Participate in the development of new technologies in relation to our process engineers in Germany and product engineers in France
  • In the upstream phase of projects, study failure modes and investigate associated mechanisms.
  • In collaboration with technologists, contribute to the choice of technological variants that will meet reliability requirements.
  • Define reliability evaluation and qualification plans, ensure their execution with the support of the reliability and characterization laboratory or external partners,
  • Analyze and present results in the form of reports or internal or external oral communications to the company,
