Job Description

The Middle Game Designer will collaborate with the Lead Game Designer to shape a competitive 4X mobile strategy game. Responsibilities include balancing game systems like economy, combat, and progression; designing core features like resource systems and tech trees; analyzing live game data to improve KPIs and player experience; and maintaining clear documentation. The role involves suggesting new mechanics, supporting LiveOps initiatives, and ensuring a balanced and engaging player experience. The game is in soft launch, so the designer's ideas can be quickly tested and implemented.
Good To Have:
  • Familiarity with combat balancing or season-based progression

Must Have:
  • 2+ years of game design experience for F2P mobile games
  • Experience with balancing complex systems, including PvP/PvE dynamics
  • Understanding of F2P monetization and progression mechanics

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

We are looking for a Middle Game Designer to join our team and help shape a competitive and engaging 4X mobile strategy game. You’ll be working closely with the Lead Game Designer to evolve and refine the game’s core systems, progression, and balance.

About the Project

We’re developing a mobile 4X strategy title that features a dynamic world map, base-building, PvP elements, alliances, and deep tech and economy trees. The game is already in soft launch in selected regions, and we’re expanding the content, tuning the balance, and preparing for global release.

Requirements

  • Collaborate directly with the Lead Game Designer to maintain and improve the design vision;
  • Own the balance and tuning of game systems: economy, combat, progression, monetization;
  • Remot config experience is a BIG plus;
  • Design and iterate on core features such as resource systems, units, tech trees, and battle mechanics;
  • Analyze live game data with the analytics team and apply insights to improve KPIs and player experience;
  • Feature Ownership understanding: maintain clear, structured documentation and follow features through to implementation and testing;
  • Suggest new mechanics or features that increase engagement and retention – while keeping balance intact;
  • Support LiveOps initiatives with content and event ideas that are fair and exciting.

What We Expect From You

  • 2+ years of experience in game design for F2P mobile games (strategy, city-builder, economic tycoons, or midcore  genres preferred);
  • Hands-on experience with balancing complex systems, including PvP/PvE dynamics;
  • Understanding of F2P monetization and progression mechanics;
  • Experience working with KPIs and game analytics;
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills — you’ll work side-by-side with a seasoned Lead Designer;
  • Ability to think both creatively and analytically.

Will be a BIG plus

  • Familiarity with combat balancing, or season-based progression;
  • Involvement in soft launch or post-launch LiveOps phases.
  • Understanding of Unity.
  • Experience with Google Sheets.
