Job Description

As a Network Platform Development Engineer at Marvell, you will collaborate with architects and technologists to influence R&D, working on accelerated compute, networking, storage, and security technologies. You'll structure new feature designs for scalability, contribute to open-source communities, implement AI/ML-driven transport protocols, develop proof-of-concept materials, and analyze performance metrics. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Proficiency in C, Perl, Python, and shell scripting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Understanding of DMA, interrupts, and memory management.
  • Strong experience with networking technologies and protocols.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux environments and networking.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with DPDK, OVS, ODP and RDMA.
  • Knowledge of ARM multicore SoC architecture.
  • Understanding of RoCE, RDMA, and DPU concepts.
  • Experience with high-speed network packet I/O and security.
  • Familiarity with security protocols such as PSP, IPSec, TLS.

What You Can Expect

  • As a member of our team, you will work closely with architects and technologists to influence R&D in accelerated compute, networking, storage, and security technologies, including emerging low-latency transport protocols.
  • Intelligently structure new feature designs and other software changes so that code is scalable, maintainable, and easily mergeable to legacy products as well as new products.
  • Collaborate with R&D to develop new features and contribute to open source communities like DPDK, Linux kernel
  • Implement AI/ML-driven transport protocols and software for advanced hardware.
  • Develop proof-of-concept materials for innovative technologies and assist early adopters.
  •  Participate in software development design flow, submitting and attending code reviews, managing and updating issue-tracking tickets (JIRA), following team-specific design and coding guidelines.
  • Analyze performance metrics and troubleshoot complex issues in large-scale environments.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 8-12 years of related professional experience. Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 8-12 years of experience.
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages, including C, Perl, Python, and shell scripting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, including kernel-level programming.
  • Understanding of DMA, interrupts, processes, memory management, and synchronization.
  • Familiarity with DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit), OVS (Open vSwitch), ODP (Open Data Plane) and RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ARM multicore SoC architecture.
  • Strong experience with networking technologies and protocols.
  • Understanding of RoCE, RDMA, and DPU concepts.
  • Experience with high-speed network packet I/O, networking security.
  • Familiarity with security protocols such as PSP, IPSec, TLS
  • Hands-on experience in performance benchmarking, system profiling, and tuning.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux environments and networking.
  • Eager to learn and thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective in collaboration and customer engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills in distributed team settings.
  • Capable of independent task planning and execution.
