Product Director

Your mission

Our Product team sits in the heart of our business, defining product strategies for both The Workshop and our business partners. Working hand in hand with your Engineering, Product and Design colleagues, you’ll articulate a vision for the products you own, aligned to our business goals and those of our valued partners, and you’ll lead a team of bright and enthusiastic product people on that journey. You’ll bring energy, empathy, experience and passion to the team, setting a high bar and coaching those around you to bring out their very best. You’ll also build exceptionally strong and mutually respectful relationships with our partners, iteratively delivering a shared roadmap of value. Oh – and we will have some fun along the way too !

What you'll do

• Embrace and embody a customer-centric and product-led culture, focused on fast paced research, design, prototyping and development across the extended product delivery team, with a constant eye on driving future customer and commercial value
• Design, develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for each product in your portfolio, which will evolve over time
• Become renowned as the product ‘guru’ within the partner organisation, representing your product area at a senior level in all relevant internal and external conversations
• Recruit and mentor new team members, creating a dynamic, exciting and yet sustainable working environment within The Workshop which attracts and retains outstanding, values-driven talent
• Bring innovation to the heart of the business, sponsoring hack events and ensuring continuous learning across the teams

What you'll bring

Asides from being an awesome all-round human, you’ll have:

• Substantial leadership experience with the proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and B2B partnerships
• Proven ability to successfully bring new products to market - on-time, on-budget, and which achieve commercial and customer success
• Extraordinary business judgment, team management, communication and interpersonal skills
• A dedication to mentoring and developing a strong team of product owners
• Experience executing market, competitive and other user research to develop product strategies that delivered commercial value
• A deep understanding of the product ‘culture’ and senior level experience in product-led organisations
• Superb verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with others to achieve productive results
• Extremely disciplined and organised approach to product and project management
• Comfortable with ambiguity and unafraid to make difficult decisions
• Some international travel may be required
