The position supports leadership with effective decision-making by maintaining portfolio integrity and driving continuous improvement in governance processes. It involves close partnership with Project Managers and Specialists to provide governance leadership, consistent application of standards, transparent reporting, and proactive risk escalation, using data and metrics to advise on resource and prioritization decisions.

  • Monitor governance compliance across projects.
  • Consolidate project-level data into portfolio dashboards and reports for leadership.
  • Conduct governance reviews at key milestones and provide audit-ready documentation.
  • Analyze cross-project trends in delivery, resourcing, and compliance to identify systemic issues.
  • Recommend improvements to governance standards, planning processes, and reporting methods.
  • Serve as a governance subject matter expert, advising PMs and Specialists on process interpretation and compliance requirements.
  • Provide leadership with clear, actionable insights on project health, prioritization, risk exposure, and portfolio priorities.
  • Maintain tool workflow and use case governance.

Position Summary

Project Analyst (Portfolio Governance & Oversight)

Summary: Owns portfolio-level governance oversight across all active projects and PM toolsets, ensuring compliance with standards, accurate reporting, and effective decision support for leadership. Works in close partnership with PMs and Project Specialists to maintain portfolio integrity and drive continuous improvement in governance processes.

Core Purpose: Provides governance leadership across the project portfolio, ensuring consistent application of standards, transparency in reporting, and initiative-taking escalation of risks. Uses data and metrics from PMs and Specialists to advise leadership and enable resource and prioritization decisions.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Create and Maintain portfolio-wide governance frameworks, ensuring all projects adhere to established processes and checkpoints.
  • Monitor governance compliance across projects, regardless of whether a PM or Project Specialist is managing the plan.
  • Consolidate project-level data from planning tools into portfolio dashboards and reports for leadership.
  • Conduct governance reviews at key milestones and provide audit-ready documentation.
  • Analyze cross-project trends in delivery, resourcing, and compliance to identify systemic issues.
  • Recommend improvements to governance standards, planning processes, and reporting methods.
  • Serve as a governance subject matter expert, advising PMs and Specialists on process interpretation and compliance requirements.
  • Provide leadership with clear, actionable insights on project health, prioritization, risk exposure, and portfolio priorities.

Key Differentiators:

  • Operates at the portfolio oversight level, not tied to a single project’s plan.
  • Ensures governance consistency regardless of project management model or PM group (PM-led, Specialist-led, or hybrid).
  • Influences strategic portfolio decisions through data, trends, and compliance analysis.

Education

Bachelors degree in related field.
