Job Description

The Project Manager - Flares serves as the primary contact for customers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. This role is crucial for safeguarding project margins, ensuring equipment meets project objectives, and maintaining transparent communication with clients. Key responsibilities include building strong customer relationships, increasing gross margins, delivering projects on time, managing budgets, generating revenue, optimizing working capital, mitigating risks, and fostering team collaboration.
Must have:
  • Manage multiple projects from sales turnover to completion (related to Flares Products).
  • Handle day to day communication with clients (external/internal), Zeeco Head Quarters, Global Offices, and sub vendors.
  • Manage quality of deliverables, schedules, man-hour budgets, weekly/monthly status reporting, and effectively lead the team.
  • Creating technical mechanical specifications, review/approve client specifications, prepare procurement inquiry packages, technically evaluate bids, and issue order packages for equipment, coordinate review of vendor drawings/data.
  • Expedite and communicate with vendor for delivery and supply to site.
  • Participate in HAZOP & SIL.
  • Maintain ISO audit documentation.
  • Full responsibility of management and project engineering of company projects/contracts.
  • Sole point person for all communications regarding a project from receipt of order through shipment and equipment turnover.
  • Protect the project margin throughout the course of the project by managing chargeable hours, production costs, scope creep, etc.
  • Review specifications and confirm scope of supply based on the same and sales quotation.
  • Analyze customer specifications to design and specify appropriate equipment for the application per sales quotation.
  • Monitor and control all internal as well as external deliverables.
  • Have full control on scope, time & cost of the project.
  • Maintain delivery schedule in line with contractual requirements and tracks the same throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Inform Quality Control Department of customer / job specifications.
  • Notify sales and estimating departments when changes occur to the scope of supply and/or design of the equipment that affect the price. Coordinate written advice and price resolution with customer concerning price revisions.
  • Prepare WBS/CBS for the project based on client specifications, sales quotation & budget.
  • Track timely invoicing and collections as targeted.
  • Provide assistance in Quotations/sales support.
  • International and Domestic travel to project meetings and/or jobsites.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in project management.
  • Heavy engineering background (oil & gas, petrochemicals, fabrication).
Good to have:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
  • Additional training in Contract Management, Risk Management, or Quality Control.

Role Summary:

The Project Manager - Flares is the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This role is responsible for protecting project margins, ensuring equipment meets project goals, and maintaining open dialogue with clients. The Project Manager is expected to:

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Increase project gross margins while ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Deliver complete project scopes within targeted timelines.
  • Track and manage project quantities within budget.
  • Generate revenue and gross margin above targeted figures.
  • Optimize working capital and maintain positive cashflow throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mitigate technical and commercial risks.
  • Foster harmony, collaboration, and positive energy within the project team.

  • Performs other duties as may be assigned that are appropriate based on skills and experience.
  • Works with management to determine updated skills and tools needed to continue improving performance and knowledge.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent (preferred).
  • Additional training in Contract Management, Risk Management, or Quality Control (a plus).

Experience:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in project management.
  • Heavy engineering background (oil & gas, petrochemicals, fabrication) strongly preferred.
