Job Description
The Senior Delivery Manager oversees the end to end delivery from planning to execution of a number of squads within the Data and AI team. The role works closely across other teams and stakeholders to ensure dependencies and timelines are managed, managing agile ceremonies, focusing on the needs of the team, removing obstacles and ensuring projects are on track.
Role responsibilities:
- Lead cross functional teams to manage the end-to-end delivery for the Data and AI portfolio of projects and product features.
- Manage and facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, big room planning, SoS) for multiple squads, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and continuous improvement.
- Proactively identify, manage, and resolve impediments and obstacles that hinder team progress.
- Effectively manage inter-team and cross-departmental dependencies and timelines to ensure projects remain on track.
- Monitor and report on the portfolio project and product feature progress, ensuring transparency and alignment with stakeholders.
- Champion best practices in delivery management, fostering an environment of efficiency and predictability.
- Focus on the needs of the delivery squads, ensuring they are empowered and supported to achieve their goals.
- Develop delivery and project plans and ensure the right levels of governance is maintained eg: testing.
- Coach the squad and teams to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience 5 years + in a Senior Iteration Manager or Delivery Manager role across a portfolio or program.
- Demonstrated experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban and their practical application.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC.
- Exception stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse groups.
- Proven ability to identify, manage and resolve complex dependencies and impediments.
- Proficient with Agile project and collaboration management tools, such as JIRA, DevOps, MIRO.
- Demonstrated experience in driving changes and maturity around agile delivery practices.
- Relevant agile certifications.
Desirable qualifications, experience & skills
- Experience in the media industry and large scale data platforms.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL, machine learning or AI development processes.
- Experience with capacity planning and resource allocation at a portfolio level.
- Tertiary qualification or related equivalent experience. An agile coaching qualification would be highly regarded.
- Ideally some exposure to project management delivering digital and data enabled solutions across Enterprise and specialised business areas.
