We are seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Solution Architect to join our consulting team that independently advises game studios, primarily 2nd party studios affiliated with Tencent, on the best technical products and solutions to use along the game development lifecycle.

In this role, you will work directly with game studios to evaluate the performance, security, and readiness of first-party Tencent products as well as third-party solutions. 

You will provide guidance on architecting robust, scalable, and secure backend solutions to power their games. Additionally, you will help define and validate the technical standards that games must meet before being approved for release across PC, console, and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities:

 Consult with game studios throughout their development cycles to understand project requirements and recommend tailored technical solutions across areas such as data, security, anti-cheat, server hosting/orchestration, and more.

 Perform hands-on evaluation, testing and integration of internal Tencent products as well as third-party tools/platforms to assess fit for studio needs.

 Architect secure, high-performance backend systems following best practices for areas such as player data, matchmaking, analytics, live operations, etc.

 Define and enforce technical criteria for assessing the production readiness and maintainability of games prior to launch.

 Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to executive leadership as well as engineering teams at partner studios.

 Explore emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure studios maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

Requirements:

 8+ years of experience with at least 5 years as a solution architect or technical lead role. Game industry experience is required.

 Strong hands-on programming skills with recent (last 3 years) game development experience using Unreal Engine. Unity and/or proprietary engine development experience is a plus.

 Expertise in backend architecture and systems integration for gaming use cases such as player data, matchmaking, analytics, live ops, etc.

 Proven ability to work closely with external partners and counsel them on technical solutions.

 Solid understanding of security practices, anti-cheat solutions, and running game services in production environments.

 Excellent oral/written communication abilities to effectively convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience.

 Ability to travel periodically to game studios across Europe and North America.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Previous experience on AAA game projects working with major game engines.

 Background in providing architecture solutions and consulting to client-facing stakeholders.

 Enterprise architecture experience with full software development lifecycle and release management.
