As a Mobile Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining effective mobile applications for Android and iOS. You will coordinate with the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. You will also contribute to backend services for mobile counterparts. You will be part of a cross-functional team, learning and practicing all aspects of software development, including understanding user feedback, developing software, testing, CI/CD practices, DevOps, and ongoing maintenance.
Must have:
  • Design, build, test, and maintain mobile apps
  • Demonstrate CI/CD practices
  • Embrace IaC tools
  • Implement security best practices
  • Monitor product areas in production
  • Resolve production issues
  • Ensure proper team communication
  • Contribute to process improvement
  • Participate in solution design
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong technical background
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proven software development experience
  • Experience with RESTful patterns
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Experience with linting code, unit tests and code reviews
  • Desire to work as a team member
Good to have:
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Firebase
  • Experience with .NET and C#
  • Experience with Node.js and Typescript
  • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
  • Experience with event-driven microservice architecture

As a Mobile Developer, you will be responsible for building or improving Android and iOS applications including contributing to backend services for mobile counterparts. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these applications and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential.     

 

At Anthology, we build software products that empower institutions to make strategic decisions with their data. These products assist with several aspects of higher education including Student Engagement, Program Assessment, and Course Evaluations. Our Software Engineers, along with ProdUX professionals, are fundamental to the creation of solutions for our member institutions.    

 

At Anthology, software engineers will learn to apply their software development expertise as members of a cross-functional team. Our teams usually consist of Product Managers, UX Designers, and Developers of varying interests to create a Full Stack team. Software Engineers learn and practice all aspects of software development including (but not limited to) understanding user feedback, developing the software, testing, CI/CD practices, DevOps, and ongoing maintenance.   

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, building, testing, and maintaining effective mobile apps
  • Understanding and demonstrating Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices
  • Embracing and championing the use of IaC tools (e.g., Terraform)
  • Implementing security best practices throughout the development lifecycle
  • Monitoring the team's product areas running in production
  • Resolving production issues and defects for solutions owned by the team
  • Ensuring proper team and inter-team communication practices
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives on the team
  • Participating in solution design on the team  

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Computer Science/Engineering background or ability to demonstrate a strong technical background
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above
  • Proven software development experience with native iOS and native Android
  • Experience with RESTful patterns and web services
  • Some experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Experience with linting code, creating unit tests, and being an active participant in code reviews
  • Desire to work as a member of an inclusive, cross-functional team 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:   

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps

  • Experience with Node.js and Typescript
  • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
