Senior UI Developer – Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Senior UI Developer with deep expertise in front-end engineering and a passion for building high-quality, scalable, and performant user interfaces. In this leadership role, you will shape the technical vision, guide front-end strategy, and drive the evolution of user interfaces across our platform.
As a senior leader, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including UX, Product, Engineering, and QA—to ensure the seamless delivery of intuitive, accessible, and maintainable web experiences. You will mentor engineers, set technical standards, and play a key role in product planning, architecture, and decision-making at scale.
This is an ideal opportunity for a UI leader with an architectural mindset who thrives on solving complex problems, driving innovation, and empowering teams to deliver world-class digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Front-End Architecture & Strategy
- Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable and modular front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React.js, Angular, or equivalent) based on the needs of each product area.
- Define frontend architecture patterns (micro frontends, mono repo management, code splitting, lazy loading) to ensure maintainability and scalability.
- Evaluate and select technology stacks, libraries, and tooling to align with business goals, team skills, and long-term evolution of the product.
Design Systems & Component Architecture
- Drive the creation and governance of enterprise-grade design systems and shared component libraries.
- Ensure reusability, accessibility (WCAG 2.x compliance), cross-brand theming, and responsive design in component systems.
- Establish scalable approaches for multi-tenant UI systems supporting white-labeling and customization.
Performance, Quality & Testing
- Implement and enforce rigorous performance benchmarks, including First Contentful Paint (FCP), Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Total Blocking Time (TBT), and Core Web Vitals.
- Define strategies for frontend observability including performance logging, error reporting, and user monitoring.
- Design comprehensive testing strategies including:
- Unit testing (Vitest, Jest)
- Integration testing (Testing Library)
- Visual regression testing (Storybook, Percy, Chromatic)
- End-to-end testing (Cypress, Playwright)
Security, Resilience, and Compliance
- Guide implementation of secure front-end architectures(e.g., XSS protection, CSP headers, secure storage).
- Lead UI-related risk assessments, browser compatibility strategy, and progressive enhancement/degradation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Mentorship
- Partner closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Accessibility Teams, and Backend Engineering to align technical execution with business objectives.
- Lead architecture reviews, RFC discussions, and technical spike evaluations.
- Mentor front-end engineers across levels, driving excellence in clean code, TDD, accessibility, and responsive UI development.
- Champion the integration of accessibility (A11Y) and inclusive design from the start of every project.
Requirements
- 10-15 years of hands-on experience in modern front-end development.
- Expert-level proficiency in Frameworks available(including Angular, react, vueJS is a plus).
- Strong foundational knowledge of React.js, including its component model, hooks, and architectural patterns.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing comprehensive test strategies using tools like Vitest, Vue Test Utils, React testing libraries or Jest.
- Deep understanding of frontend performance optimization, browser rendering internals, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Understanding of design patterns.
- Demonstrated leadership in code reviews, sprint planning, architectural design, and project execution.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical vision to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience tackling advanced UI challenges involving large datasets, dynamic rendering, canvas-based interfaces, or visual editors.
- Ability to interpret design artifacts and proactively suggest UX or implementation improvements that maintain product intent while optimizing for scalability.
Bonus Points
- Domain experience in call center technologies, particularly Genesys Cloud, customer engagement platforms, or agent tooling.
- Experience with component libraries(e.g., Storybook), design systems, and micro frontends.
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, container-based deployments, and cloud-based frontend infrastructure (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, AWS).
What We Value:
- Pragmatism over dogma—frameworks are tools, not destinations.
- A passion for mentorship, leadership, and scalable technical excellence.
- A deep belief in user-first design with a clear understanding of how engineering choices shape customer experience.
