Job Description

PortalOne seeks a Social Media Assistant to manage their games community across various channels, mainly focusing on live chat moderation during their 15-minute Arcade Shows within the PortalOne app. Responsibilities include hyping up players, hosts, and guests; answering player questions; sharing community feedback with internal teams; and responding to player inquiries on Facebook and Discord. The role requires strong communication skills (English and Norwegian fluency), familiarity with social media platforms, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. This is a part-time, remote position requiring approximately 1 hour/day, centered around their daily show at 21:00 CEST.

THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN

Hybrid games mean that we host shows inside our games platform, with our first show – The Arcade Show – taking place inside the PortalOne app several times a week. During the show, players compete against a special guest, with the chance to win real prizes. Each Arcade Show is about 15 minutes long.

We are looking for an assistant to help us manage our games community on various channels and during our shows. This role entails providing live chat moderation during the shows and acting as a go-between between our community and internal teams. You will be supported by our internal communications team and Community Manager and will work alongside another Social Media assistant.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Your tasks will include:

  • Moderating and participating on behalf of PortalOne in the live chat during the shows broadcasted inside the PortalOne app. You will be responsible for hyping up our players’ gameplay and scores, our hosts and guests, as well as providing helpful information for players with any questions during the show.
  • Communicate as a representative of PortalOne in our social media communities by:
    • Sharing feedback from our community of players with internal teams
    • Responding to inquiries from players on our various channels, primarily Facebook and Discord

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for someone available 1-2 hours per day, 4-7 days per week.

If you would describe yourself as the following we would love to hear from you!

  • A great communicator: someone who is passionate, and who gets along well with others. You will be very comfortable with social interactions both in-person and online.
  • Full-working proficiency and fluency in English and Norwegian. You will discuss work-related tasks with PortalOne team members in both verbal and written form in English, and will required to communicate with players during our shows in Norwegian.
  • Strong interest or experience (personal or professional) across social media, games, and/or streaming.
  • Calm under pressure, with the ability to recognize and work out potential community issues.
  • Familiarity with Facebook and Discord
  • Some experience with community management, whether it’s managing your own community (e.g. Facebook group) or being an active part in other communities, is a bonus.
  • Some knowledge about the games industry is a plus.

 

ABOUT THE JOB 

The job will require you to work approximately 1 hour per day. Work hours will be centered around our daily show at  21:00 CEST each day. You will be paid by the hour. 

You must be able to work during the evening. Remote work is possible.
