Are you passionate about gaming and skilled at bringing communities together? We’re looking for a Community Manager to serve as the vital link between our development team and player base. You’ll foster a thriving, engaged, and loyal community across social media, forums, and in-game channels, ensuring players feel heard, excited, and connected to our games. Your strategic communication and deep understanding of gaming culture will help drive long-term engagement and brand loyalty.
What Will You Do?
- Be the Voice & Ear of the Community: Serve as the direct connection between players and developers—gathering feedback, relaying updates, and building trust.
- Manage and Moderate Community Channels: Lead community engagement across Discord, Reddit, game forums (e.g., Discourse, Vanilla), and social platforms like Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Create & Drive Engagement Initiatives: Organize and host community events, contests, livestreams, and AMAs (Ask Me Anything) to energize and grow the community.
- Track Sentiment & Surface Insights: Monitor community feedback, trends, and pain points, and escalate them to production and dev teams with clear summaries and recommendations.
- Uphold a Healthy Environment: Establish and enforce community guidelines, moderation workflows, and escalation paths in coordination with internal and volunteer mods.
- Coordinate Basic Support: Work alongside the Customer Support team to address basic player needs and common issues.
- Represent the Brand Online: Be a consistent, positive, and professional presence across platforms—informing, engaging, and supporting players.
To Be Successful You Will Have:
- 2+ years of experience in community management, ideally in a live-service or multiplayer gaming environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage conversations calmly and empathetically—even under pressure.
- Hands-on experience managing Discord bots, Reddit moderation tools, forums, and major social platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- Strong understanding of gaming culture, community dynamics, memes, and online player behavior.
- Content-savvy mindset, capable of collaborating with marketing or content teams to support campaigns, announcements, and organic growth.
- Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple community tasks and provide data-driven insights.
- Comfort in ambiguity, with a self-starter attitude and ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments.
Bonus Points:
- Experience running livestreams or video content (Twitch, YouTube Live).
- Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Discord Insights, Reddit metrics).
- Previous involvement in gaming communities as a player, moderator, or creator.
