Sr. Data Steward – Customer Data

Summary:

The Sr. Data Steward is part of a team of data stewards supporting the Nissan Customer Data domain.  The primary focus of the Sr. Data Steward is to ensure that the customer data is accurate.  This is accomplished by implementing data quality rules to ensure the data is of a quality appropriate for its intended use.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure that customer data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Develop, support, and maintain data quality rules for inbound and outbound data contained within the Nissan Customer Data domain.
• Help to establish and support data quality metrics and KPI’s for Customer Data domain.
• Support customer data stakeholders with data quality and lineage inquiries.
• Ensure stakeholder requests are triaged, processed and closed appropriately.
• Collaborates with the Enterprise Data Governance team to ensure appropriate governance compliance within Nissan Customer Data domain.
• Lead compliance process for customer data access.
• Work as part of a team supporting the Nissan Customer Data domain to ensure the customer database is fit for purpose.
• Establish guidelines and protocols that govern data to ensure that privacy controls are enforced in all processes.
• Compile retention, archival, and disposal requirements and ensure compliance with Nissan Records Retention Policy and national regulations.
• Establish and implement data curation practices to ensure that the life span of data continues to follow guidelines and protocols in place.
• Lead development and implementation of Master Data Management (MDM) rules.
• Support data merge process within MDM tool.
• Work with enterprise data stewards and other domain data stewards to establish synergies, standardization and best practices

Job Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of information technologies, standards, and best practices prevalent in data governance, data quality, and data privacy.
• Familiarity with data management principles and practices.
• Experience creating and documenting policies and procedures.
• Ability to work with both business stakeholders and technical support teams to resolve data issues.

Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in quantitative or business related field is required.
• A total of 5 years supporting data quality and data management related projects within a large scale corporate organization. 
• Two years of experience working in a data steward role. 
• Automotive experience is preferred. 
• English Level: Advanced (MANDATORY)

Education:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related.

Advanced English level is mandatory.

Relationship and Communications Skills:

• Ability to communicate successfully with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs and translate those needs into an action plan using the tools are resources available to support the Customer Data domain.
• Ability to communicate with highly technical individuals about the desires, insights and observations of the business and to ensure development and deployment of appropriate solutions.

Specific Course/Certifications

Experience with data quality and data governance tools in a Cloud based environment is required.  The experience with the following tools is preferred;

• Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) Analyst Tool
• Informatica Axon
• Informatica EDC
• Ataccama MDM
• Snowflake
• SQL

Travel Required?

Occasionally. Having USA VISA is a plus.
